It's not just my mid-life crisis, I swear, but this just makes me cry. It is so insanely amazing. How to say it? Thrilling, stimulating - like nothing else. I am mesmerised by Mr. Ferry. Did he know just how brilliant he was being? The whole thing just blows my mind. Thank god it happened.

one of the best and saddest and truest songs ever about the human condition. On our way to enlightenment, we have to pass through so many stages of hope, ennui, pain and beauty. so let's all just try to be as kind as we can be to each other….and have a really good time.
@karenkaren318910 жыл бұрын
pretty funny, I just realized this was on the Midnight Special-the audience was probably in full "WTF?" mode-though I saw them around this time live in Los Angeles and we were totally entranced-he sang this song as if his life depended on it.

Eddie Jobson on keys, John Wetton on bass - 3 years before forming the legendary band "U.K." Another key moment in music history. Bryan Ferry certainly had good taste, including in his choice of musicians. Love this song, and Jobson's arrangement (at the age of 19 here!!). Brilliant.

@801liveable Bryan laid-back singing made roxy music a brilliant band. they had a great carreer worl-wide, not so much in the states. but I mostly think it's because Ferry was much more complex for the american people. especially when he put all his make-up in the Roxy era ;-)
