"Avalon" is the eighth and last studio album by the British band Roxy Music. The album is generally regarded as the culmination of the smoother, more adult-oriented sound of the band's later work. It was the band's most successful studio album. I took the title song and edited a bit. Thus creating an extended version. No copyright infringement intended. Enjoy!

Avalon is in California on the island of Santa Catalina...this sure takes me back home in the 1970s and 1980s...i played this to death...it is now 2024.. Roxy Music 🎵🎶 and Avalon is still Hot 🔥... anyone listening 🎧 with me to this great song in 2024😮

Oh my God! What an amazing version of an awesome song. I never heard this extended mix before today. I always felt Avalon was too short for its greatness. This version feels about right. But I'll still have to play it again every time I play this. Love it.

Martha Ladly, a Canadian from the band Martha and The Muffins and also The Associates, from Scotland (great band too). She did not sing on the Avalon album though, that was a Haitian singer named Yanick Étienne, who Ferry heard singing in the next studio (Compass Point in the Bahamas) and invited her to record with them. In the actual official video for the song, the girl who Ferry dances with and is captivated by is a teenage Sophie Ward, a top supermodel and actress who left her husband and came out as a lesbian in the 1990's.

I know I have commented on this before but I keep coming back to it, these haunting lyrics especially from thefemale backing singer who I am madly in love with, take you to a place you never want to come from, I had all of roxy musics albums on vinyl which I lost after my divorce, I replaced most of them afterwards then made the mistake of lending some to a friend many years ago including avalon and siren who forgot to return them before emigrating to new zealand, I again replaced them this time on CD, but for some obscure reason a year or so ago my avalon stopped playing which at the time didnt bother me but after watching this fo so many times I have now bought a new CD

Yanick Étienne. No idea who this weird, toothy blonde is but she is not the backup voice to Avalon, and she looks like she's lip syncing, and badly at that. Sadly Ms. Étienne passed in March of 2022.
