How “Oh Yeah” is not an indelible part of the widely known pop music canon is beyond me. Everything about it is perfection, especially the keyboard fill leading into the chorus - achingly beautiful; just as the lyrics.

I agree. It's a masterpiece in my eyes. I made my own 80s mixed tape in my teens in the 90s. My older aunt had loads of compilation albums of 80s and power ballads and I'd tape them all onto cassette but then I buy Cds for one song and then find new ones I hadn't heard before. My favourite song ever is probably Don Henley The Boys of Summer and then this Roxy Music song. I I love 80s stuff and it's hard to name just one as there's soo so many. x

Once upon a time, artists produced quality songs both lyrically and musically. It was a delight for the ears of every music lover. You could listen to it endlessly. It had a special impact for many. The sixties, seventies, eighties... great times...! "Oh Yeah..." released in 1980 and still popular in 2023...! Thank you Bryan FERRY for one of your masterpieces and may you be well. ROXY MUSIC... pure youth sentiment...! Greetings from Belgium (Europe) and Florida (USA).

It’s perfect. Sonically, Lyrically - recursive poetry, referencing its own glory. To me, It’s a song celebrating the temporal joys of musical experience - that special place, that nirvana we strive to achieve by forgetting ourselves in corporeal pursuits, is here not to be achieved, but to be discovered in the perfection of a chorus. Why go to the movies, when we have everything we need right here and now with this song? Every time you play it, it’s all you need. Right now. Or something like that.

First time I heard these guys was in Mexico as a kid. The station played popular American music. Didn't understand any of it but loved it none the less. Moved me then moves me now.

From "Dance Away" to "Oh Yeah" Bryan Ferry exudes the essence of sadness and melancholia that makes so many of his songs classic. It's really sad that many people, both current but also from those that were of Roxy's generation don't know how great of band they truly were. And no band knows how to bring a pronounced, triumphant introduction to a song like Roxy Music ( Listen to the opening few songs of Avalon)

Roxy were always far too good for the market, Ferry's brilliant songs only truly appreciated by those capable of understanding concepts of more than one dimension - just listen to Strictly Confidential, for example. The first album was probably 100 years ahead of its time and sounds even better every time I play it. Ferry is a musical genius without peer.

He is a creative guy ... Art, Music, so as I was growing up, I heard Virginia Plain, and thought Wow ... then his hits ballads or for the Clubs and Roxy Music became one of my favourite bands. Got to see them at NEC Birmingham in the 80s with friends ... fab! 40 plus years later, still listening to them.

Another soothing touch of class from a magnificent band, the effort put in to record a near perfect ballad like this is mind boggling and just further highlights many of the shortfalls of todays record industry/fast food attitude which only focuses on money.

This song has some really elegant self referential lyrics. My favorite Roxy Music song. Although they were more groundbreaking in the beginning I find their hyper polished last three albums have stood the test of time better.
