‪@tobelovedtreasuresbycorrine‬ asked me to share my thoughts about Lulu's quilt. So here it is! i will update you soon but am thinking I will make it in strips the width od the bed and then join them together. Ideas are always evolving.

I love how this type of quilting does not require perfect measurements or matching corners perfectly. I think I would enjoy this type of work. I can’t wait to see the finished product. The quilt is beautiful. One of my more cherished possessions is a quilt my mother made me. I struggled with the field notes concept at the beginning. I'm doing the prompts my way and using bright colors. It's quite a lot of fun now.

I love the quilt! There was a lady many years ago, I believe her name was, Georgia Bonesteel, that did a lot of lap quilting. It's very similar to what you are doing. I think it would be easier to do each section individually, then combine as a strip, then attach each strip together to form the size you need. Happy stitching!!

I have been a quilter for a long time but your approach to making a quilt is so wonderful and new to me. It will be an heirloom so be sure to teach Lulu how to care for it as your antique fabrics are fragile compared to your fabrics. ❤❤❤

I LOVE Lulus quilt. Now I want to make one. I love all of your fabrics. We have regular stores and dont get fabrics and hemps and linen like you have. They are incredible. This quilt project for Lulu is very inspiring. About 30 years, I made quilts for my 3 children, however we were in the middle of a whole house renovation, and finding a clean space to work was a challenge all by itself. But I found this American quilter, Georgia Bonsteel, I think, who did lap quilting. All of mine were pieced patterns, so I was able to easily do them in 12 inch squares. I quilted each block, then backed with another layer of batting and backing, where I finished the thing by stitching over the grids. (We get pretty cold winter nights here in Canada.) I think I would like to have a go at this kind of quilt!
