As my Wednesdays have freed up with moving #roxysjournalofstitchery to Sunday I am starting #whateverywednesday. It's a day where I will work on whatever I feel like. It could be slow stitching, journal making, journal cover decorating, collage fabric or paper or both, simply whatever!
Today I am working on the open pouch I shared with you in my fabric book video using the same fabric as mum. I made a start thread painting some of the flowers in the fabric.

Thank you for sharing ...love the look of all of your booklets. I just ordered the book "slow Stitching", excited to see it. I was able to purchase used, excellent condition book at much less price through "Abe Books". I have been stitching over the years ...off and on, my style is not perfect, kind of messy, loose . I did stitching when I was a teenager...now 81 and I am trying it again. It can be relaxing if you don't focus on perfect!

Good morning Rachel! I want to thank you for sharing your love of stitching and your wonderful friends that stitch along with you. Corrine has been so much fun to watch and learn from. Bev is the newest I have watched to learn the process of the needle books. I never watched any of your stitchery until a couple months ago when I wanted to make a journal cover using kantha stitching. And boy did I find a treasure trove of good things to watch. I am still working on my journal cover but I’m really savoring the making of it. It brings back so many memories of sewing with my mom and grandmom when I was learning how to sew and I have found the comfort in the process. Love your work and this community of stitchy ladies I have found to spend time with. Sending much love from Texas.

I love cutwork embroidery. "Enjoying the wildness of it all"? I giggled because that's my excuse for not being as neat as I like. lol. I so so love the florentine papers. I hope you can find it works for you to do it. I would like to see your progress on this project. Oh you've inspired me again. I love those fabric covers. I have only made one fabric cover so far and gave the journal to my sister because she loves purple. She does.t use it or has it on display anywhere. I sometimes wish I kept it so I could show people what it looked like, or even just to re-inspire myself of what I'm capable of. Anyway!! I'm going to make #whateverwednesday my Thursday routine and work along with you regardless of what I'm doing. I may decide to do whatever you are doing on the day also. Looking forward to it.❤❤

I love this pouch project, please share stages as you work on it and the finished project. I would so like to see it. I have been just stitching up small collage pages to master my choices of small fabric backgrounds, trying to improve my feel for what will blend together. Your projects are so wonderful, the ideas are so helpful, I am hoping to put together a few pouches, and tri- fold, pouches for gift giving. I find that I’ll work on something for awhile and then put it away. When I come across it after a month or so I’ll go, “Hey, I kind of like that!”. It helps me to get some distance from it and later appreciate it more. ***This also works great for justifying never finishing any project 🤦🏻‍♀️

I have mentioned this before and have ordered the Venetian papers from you in their past. I wish you would just list where in Venice you purchase your papers from. I’ve also thought it would be lovely Rachel, if you would make up a little PDF booklet on your favorite places to shop for ephemeral in Italy including the Venetian papers, flea market antique sales etc. in the various cities you visit over the year. I think a reference of that nature would be a terrific seller for those of us who travel and love Italy. 🇮🇹

Rachel, Regarding your needle fabric books? Why not scan them so you can remember them? OR OR scan them and then have the scans printed on FABRIC and you can sell each as a DIY kit! Aren't I a clever chuk?
