Slow Stitch Quilt |

Today I harvest embroideries and slow stitch on Quilt Block 4.
This is the start of a new play list which will follow the progress of my Flower to Flower quilt, inspired by the Field Notes prompt.

Hi Kate, that's the biggest compliment you can get from your son if he asks if you can do something with the split in his Navy Pants. It is great that you can let your children do what they want and let them live the life that they themselves find important. My daughters both lead a very different life and are each happy with their chosen path. If they are happy I am too. The daughter with the not so "normal" life path is very grateful that I support her in what she does. She often gets questions about whether her parents like this, and are then surprised that we support her. It is her life and she has to fill it in the way she wants. She works hard to do all this. I am so proud. It was again a great video pitch👍🧡💐

Two videos in one day, wonderful ! It’s lovely to watch you working on your quilt again too ! I’m not doing anything at the moment , I’ve lost my rhythm it seems. I visited five (5) op shops on Monday and bought absolutely nothing. There were no old books, no doilies, nothing that jumped out at me so that was disappointing, oh well ! 😊

Absolutely LOVE your fabric nests❣️. I bought an all cotton“manufactured” quilt for $8 at a thrift shop. It’s 4” squares & some seams need repair. It’s pink & white. I’ve decided to “slow stitch” & embellish instead of “proper” repair. Thanks for the inspiration. ( bye bye spare room HELLO new artsy studio 🤭) 🤗 Much love & laughter

I went thrifting today in Rye, East Sussex and down on the floor was a "nest" full of doyleys and beautiful little mats.!! I thought of you immediately and how you would have felt! If I knew how to send a photo to you I would have taken a photo! Needless to say I gobbled them up and once home i have piinned a sweet little doyley on a piece I'm working on already !! Hi there again, I’m loving all your work, and hear your terms coming through. Nest, harvest and pod. Love them and using them myself. I just saw a great idea to put a glasses pouch with a closure on the outside of a purse, and immediately thought of you. It would be super handy to have one in our needle book, nests, journals etc etc. what do you think? Xxx Marlene

Hi Kate! I’m a complete newbie to this type of stitching and I am really trying to figure out what exactly is happening because I super love the look of! So far I have seen just about every stitcher cut up old pieces and sew them onto their new creations. Is there any method for what you do? One thing that really confuses me is that I don’t understand how the edges of the sewn on pieces are finished. Do you leave the edges raw, or stitch something over them, or embroider over them or something else? TYSM for helping me to figure this out as I am very eager to get started!
