Just watch him fight he went to 15 round wars V legends like Azumah Nelson, Danny Lopez, Juan Laporte, Wilfredo Gomez etc and he never even opened his mouth to breath, none of his opponents managed to make him gas out. Maybe Armstrong did have a higher work rate which is impressive no doubt. Sanchez seemed to almost control his stamina just watch him fight after the 12th thru 15th rounds Sanchez would get second winds and just KO legendary fighters and u just see this 23 year old kid with a stone cold face not even breathing hard after throwing 1200 punches just dismantling world class fighters

I appreciate that Roy picked someone other than predictably going with Mayweather as far as a defensive fighter. People nowadays who don’t really have a legitimate understanding on the history of the sport just automatically say that Floyd Mayweather is the greatest defensive fighter ever. Wilfredo Benitez, Pernell Whitaker and Willy Pep were all AT LEAST on Mayweather’s level as a defensive fighter, if you ask any historian on the sport.

After listening to a ton of monsters and the monsters they picked: 1) Salvador Sanchez 2) Wilfred Benitez 3) Joe Louis. 4) Julio Cesar Chavez. 5) Roberto Duran. The Defense: 1) Calzaghe 46-0 Made it look easy and Roy should know this. 2) P. Whitaker. Tyson and friends picked this list, with Ray Leonard, Hearns, and Hopkins, so if anyone doesn't like it, they made it and I like it. Always subjective, but I think Tyson and Friends, did a great job. I did not know, what a beast Sanchez was, but Mike called him a F****G monster and almost jumped out of his chair and all agreed. Sadly, a car crash stole Sanchez, but after that, I went back to watch and Sanchez, was just, a monster, like Tyson said, with Benitez, Louis, Chavez, and Duran. This occurred, with so many greats, in a number of Mike's podcasts, but when icons agree, it is only, I think, what number is the top 5, for each guy, with respect to the Great, Sugar Ray Robinson. I love everyone's opinions, comments * and I loved Roy's opinions and comments, as love for boxing, is just great AND, liking the hosting job! Great video!! Be safe all! All in fun! :)

Boxing isn't a linear sport where things are easier measured by statistics. Mayweather isn't rated that highly among the more seasoned fans and boxing experts. Nothing to do with Floyd, best of his generation but there has been many fighters. There isn't a single weight class Floyd was in where he dominated it, unified, or was undisputed. He isn't top 10 in a single class.

Why is Floyd the best period? There are many fighters who were better than him. First he lost to Castillo in the first fight, but received a gift. Then, he came very close to losing to an Oscar de la Hoya, who was past his prime. He waited until Manny Pacquio was past his prime before he fought him. Floyd was a great boxer, but not nearly the best of all time.
