Smiggy Ballz you know normally I’d agree with you because age is definitely a factor. In Wilder’s case I think he could get better because he hasn’t been boxing for that long compared to most guys. He started already in his 20’s so he may be able to be taught something by the right guy. I don’t think it’s too late for him, it’s not like he’s been in this game for so long that he should be set in his ways.

Traig Chapman absolutely I see what you mean, but he has now hit a wall, a wall he never hit. He’s not the type to go around it, and he can’t just knock it down, so he needs some tools. All I’m saying is, it’s not too late for the right person to show him the tools. Don’t know how he’ll execute just yet but because of his comparably short boxing career, I think he has room to add to his arsenal. I just don’t think he’s a done deal because of his age because his age isn’t properly represented by his boxing experience.

I have a different perspective...Floyd sets traps and plays tricks....outside of that he’s actually an above average boxer with extraordinary reflexes....it’s borderline telepathy how he reads what the opponent is going to do, seemingly before the opponent does. He was undefeated for so long because nobody was able figured out what he was doing at any given time he’d play a different trick or set a different trap or box or be defensive to get a read on the opponent ....plus he’s in excellent condition Now add traps, tricks, conditioning, boxing IQ, reflexes, defense and avoidance techniques combined together and you have Floyd Mayweather jr That’s why there won’t be another because a few of those are God given gifts you can’t teach Now name another that has those same traits in combination

He's a human cat. His speed wasn't just his athletic/physical gifts but his reflexes and intuition. He could sense what you're going to do before you even start doing it, and so he's already countered whatever it was you did. It's instinct and you can't really teach it, but everyone does have it. Abusive childhoods, violent neighborhood, experiencing war/combat etc, basically fearing for your life and always looking over your shoulder and people start to develop it, like a survival awareness

Very hard to perform a lead right followed by a left hook--unless you're Jones. Lead right hand is a long distance shot and the left hook is a short range shot. If you hit your opponent with the lead right, he is falling back and is out of the range for the left hook unless you are moving in. If you miss with the lead right, you are open for a devastating counter. You have to be really fast to pull it off.

@@jameshoward6646 more specifically acceleration. Force = mass x acceleration. But we'll use the term speed. In regards to speed, what im saying is theres two types of speed: hand speed and speed of body mechanics. If one has fast hands and slow body mechanics the power won't be as great as it could have been because maximal power is generated from the rest of the body and then released from the hand to target, the weight probably wouldn't transfer through optimally. What I think Roy was trying to teach here was optimal form. If this guy fully extended his right hand and more in a straight n arrow shot it would have impacted the pad more. Some of his right cross if he were to continue the shot the trajectory of the shot wouldve curved off the line of the target, meaning that some of the power he generated probably will be misdirected and lost. Also with the hook, if that elbow was positioned right behind the shot it would drive his knuckles in more to the target. This guy is dope, don't get me wrong. Details like this can seem knit picky until you feel the difference, but you often wont unless you slow it down so your body can catch up. And of course, I have no doubt every single one of those punches would be effective... having the most perfect punch or technique isn't always the most important thing.
