the reason boxing has the most deaths and CTE over things like muay thai and MMA due to the fact that boxing chronically does not leave ego at the door in sparring. Hard sparring is a large part of boxing culture, I get it. But, its not necessary for improvement unless youre prepping for a fight, but in week to week sessions, it actually hinders creativity and learning ability. The point of sparring is to practice hitting and not getting hit, no one ever said you need to hit hard.
@theslavicharuspex

some fighters improve and develop skills through hard sparring, but not all of them, and certainly not amateurs, so I see your point brah
@multechpro7151
@multechpro7151 8 ай бұрын
You are partially right there. As someone who is practicing boxing doing light sparring will make you improve, however once you get good and you want to get even better you need to do hard sparring at some point. The reason for it is that at some point you want to test your reactions to faster punches how to avoid or parry them, unfortunately more speed = harder punches it's physics.

I agree. This is a pitiful display of ego that will only ensure these young boxers leave their careers over early in the gym. Pointless chest puffing nonsense. A hard spar is ok but this is a fight.
@johanneskarlsson6535

There are times for harder sparring but it'll cost you. Lot's of improvement can be made and technique honed in lighter sparring. And the more explorative, playful sparring that is so useful and fun is difficult to do if you spar hard all of the time. I'm not gonna play around as a southpaw if it might cost me a concussion, yet it might be very useful, no?

Dayum! Red headgear is like a mini Mike Tyson. Angle Shifts, Subtle switch hitting, dipping low while slipping and rolling, aggressive combinations to the body and head, amazing ability to close the distance and take away the jab! That kids the real deal man! The peekaboo style is one of the hardest and draining styles to master, but he did it all and left blue headgear guessing... Props to blue headgear though, not much he could have done other than use checkhooks while pivoting outt, turn more to get off the centreline, implement more uppercuts, post the jab out there to better manage the distance for outboxing and vary the jab between power and light jabs to make red headgear respect his power... Cant say most of this would have worked though, cos red headgear is just too crisp with that technique. Mad props to both of them.

I know a lot of people will say Blue needs to turn more, but I think what he really needs to do is learn how to calm down. And maybe use a pendulum footwork- punch while moving. He has nice jabs, and his lead uppercut could be enough to stop the other guy's pressure. I can definitely feel his fear and tension personally- it's happened to me a lot before. If they're really hard sparring, then I don't think he should be all that afraid of making exchanges.

Very beautiful sparring A question for you guys,i m a heavyweight (120kg/~260lbs) what is a really good value for money facebar headgear? Like a cheap one imo is really Dangerous cause if i take a big hit from a big guy is prob gonna bend the facebar...but i also do not wanna spend 300€(im in Italy)...any suggestion? PLZ answer ONLY if you are a heavyweight or if you have experience with heavyweights cause it is pretty different

What a beatdown dayum 😅 im guessing they put red with blue to make him think under heavy artillery but i feel like red should have went from 95% to like 70% since blue didnt even know where he was, yknow, some sparring etiquette 😂😂

Red lowkey wasn’t even going 100%, maybe at times he went a lil hard just to let him know it’s levels but he still gave blue his opportunity to work but red made him better at the end if the day

Reds a killer, the pressure he puts on is crazy didn't even let blue get into his rhythm. Also I know it would be hard to face against a guy like red but I still think think blue could've done more :/

Red Guy boxes the way I'm trying to. Only that I have just two years under my belt while red guy seems way more experienced. High active guard with open hands turned forward, push opponent into the ropes and negate any reach advantage, then commit to shots.

I thought red showed fairly good restraint. He did let blue work in some pockets and didn’t seem to be going full tilt, as it was obvious blue didn’t have the strength and conditioning to execute on everything he knew.

If you stick with it after getting beat in 4 rounds like that, then you’ve got real heart. It’s easy to stick with it when you are better than your sparring partners. But when you get beat up for multiple rounds.. that’s when you make the decision to either keep going or do something else.
