Tito was just too small for Roy Jones Jr. Roy came from fighting with Heavyweight like John Ruiz. Tito came from 147 to fight Jones.

I mean Tito was a big guy himself. By the time he fought Oscar at 147 he had trouble making that weight. The only guy I think was too big for him was definitely Roy Jones. Even then though, Jones drained himself to 170 as opposed to his usual 175. But his losses at 160 are without excuse for sure, that was more his natural weight at that point in his career. Also, Tito had not fought at 147 since fighting Oscar in 1999. Tito had already fought at 154 and 160 before fighting Jones in 2008.

@@RobertVilla-o1q Trinidad’s HEIGHT was enough but it was’nt about height it was about his frame-size, they moved him up too quickly and that dissallowed him the necessary muscle mass to contend at 160 and above. At 160 Trinidad was already over his range. That said prime Hopkins had been a big natural middleweight since forever. Aside from this fact Bernard and his team (alongside Don King who was racist himself) decided to disadvantage Trinidad as much as possibe. They paid to stir up a contraversy against Trinidad during his training in P.R. which happened. After that mess and arriving to New York for fight week they then delayed the fight on Trinidad for an extra 18days (while Hopkins comfortably trained) and dissallowed him additional comfortable training or the ability to leave N.Y, almost reminescent of Rocky IV type stuff. Robbed of 18 Days of proper activity which equates to Hopkins now fighting a weaker Trinidad, as if these things were’nt enough they then brought additional accusation against him on fight day. So essentially they sabotaged both his training and then mental focus on fight day. Because of this an immediate rematch was requested to which Don King completely declined them since Don King himself had been a part of the sabotaging. These are the things nobody speaks about. After false allegations against Trinidad in strategy to remove steam off his power-shots Fernando Vargas seized the opportunity to jump on the bandwagon to “redeem” his own loss out of pure denial. Now sprinkle those factors with the fact that Bernard is one of the dirtiest fighters of the sport. With this barrage of deductive factors Trinidad stood 0 chance.

Tito fought as a welterweight for most of his career . Not enough weight to keep Roy thinking. Good fight Tito was in PR eating roasted pork, enjoying life. Tito needed 3-5 yrs to prepare for Roy and get a few meaningful wins before facing Roy

I have watch Roy sence he got ROB of Gold at the Olympics... He is by far the best fighter all times he pics his own fights and not count on promoter like Don king that have damage the rep on Boxing. But when Roy went up to heavy weight then back down thats took away his speed ...but still He has held multiple world championships in four weight classes, including titles at middleweight, super middleweight, light heavyweight, and heavyweight. He was Unbeatable in his prime.

so i watched this fight live and was a fan of both, all i can say is tito had to go up 2 weight classes to fight a much bigger stronger jones, jones was lucky trinidad didn't have the power to hurt him at that weight because trinidad landed a lot of good solid punches but as you saw in other jones fights when he fought bigger guys he was knocked out many times.

Cuando Tito peleo con Roy Jones, Wrinkly Wright and Bernard Hopkins se pego de frente a una pared, no les pudo hacer el mas minimo daño y esto tambien le paso a Oscar De La Holla no pudieron hacer absolutamente nada cuando subieron al siguiente peso. En cambio Canelo a subido de peso y knockea a los mejores de ese peso a excepción de Vibol. (GGG NO fue knockeado pero perdio) ese credito si se lo doy a Canelo a pesar de que no soy un Fan de Canelo y que aun no puedo poner a Canelo entre los 10 mejores boxeadores de México.

Lamentablemente la mayoría de espectadores como yo, no le ponemos atención a esas cláusulas y solo nos dejamos llevar por lo que se mira en el ring. Y por esta razón es que yo no tengo a Canelo en la lista de los 10 mejores boxeadores de México. Por qué él y su equipo siempre estudiaron a su próximo contrincante y si miraban que llevaban un 70% o más de ventaja de ganar entonces escogían esa pelea y así fue como subió y lo mismo hizo de la holla, todo lo manejaron a su conveniencia. Quizás sin esas cláusulas de desidratacion jamás hubieran tomado esas peleas, ya que llevaban un 50% 50%. En este caso le doy más crédito a Tito que Oscar, por que al parecer Tito peleaba con el que le tocara. Eso sí nunca me pareció bien que Tito peleará con Duran, ni De la holla con Chavez, ya que los agarraron de salida, si los hubieran agarrado en su prime, ni de la holla, ni Tito les hubieran ganado. Chavez y Duran en su prime eran intocables, invencibles.
