the weight loss is s a big factor it puts the endocryne , lymphatic systems out of sync, the thyroid gland changes it thyroxine status and the bottom line is that causes insulin issues and you feel way off your best, been there myself in 129 fights done it and have to say ROY at his best was the BEST

Going up isn't the problem it's losing the muscles that you've worked for all your life in less than a year and dropping weight. If Jones had took his time and went to cruiserW8 then dropped back to LHW he might have has a slower decline but that's the risk he took to make history and he paid the price.

Look at Roy this fight then look at him for the Henshaw fight. He looked drained and skinny but he was still 175. It's just weird to me how he just fell off like he did. I guess weight can hinder your abilities. But in his prime he was arguably the best ever.

Yeah I hear Roy say that alot in his interviews these days. It was his choice to do so but man That was a HEAVY PRICE but he will always be remembered for it. It's been longer than 108 years since BOB did it LOL. Yeah CruiserW8 is getting big now which makes since because good LW's are now getting bigger. But After Roy's last fight he needs to take that win and retire. He can't compete at a World level without his legs. It's sad to see him like this but he's a fighter.

The weight drain can really cause a fighter problems. Think about when Riddick Bowe lost all that weight in fight against Golota. Bowe was already in decline, but when when he lost all that weight for their second fight Bowe was 'instantley shot'. You almost have to throw the 2004-present out the window. However, I wish RJ had fought the best in his prime. Had he done so, there would be no questions around his career. Great fighter though...

What's the art of Boxing... to Hit and Not Get Hit and Roy was one of the best at it and Ali SRL and Tyson were great aswell and all were dropped like Roy or Ko'd except ALI (never KO'd). Nigel Benn was overseas why go there Holyfield was beaten by Ruiz at the time He had already beat Toney badly and Jones wasn't a trus CruiserW8 or HW The only way Roy would have been great is if he was Ko'd in his prime or take fights with high risk low reward.
