Both Roy and K.D. have wonderful and unique voices. Great duet.

Roy Orbison was a true legend……he heard k.d. sing and he asked her to do “ Crying “ as a duet with him. When he died she was asked to perform “Crying “ at a memorial concert tribute to Roy. It was amazing it bought the house down! I hope you both are able to see it……It’s “ k.d. lang sings Crying at Roy Orbison Memorial Tribute “

Elvis actually believed Roy had 'the most perfect voice.' Once an interviewer asked Elvis what it's like to be the best singer in the world. Elvis responded with, 'I don't know, ask Roy Orbison.' :)

When asked what it was like to be the World's best singer, he said "I don't know, you better ask Roy Orbison". Roy said KD had the best pipes he had ever heard. So they are quite the couple.

KD has such a powerful voice ... I read somewhere that she really toned it down when singing with Roy so's as to not drown him out.

Roy had one of those voices that you knew who it was from the first note, nobody else sounded like him. I saw kd perform this song on an A&E special many years ago and it brought the house down. Her vocal control is amazing and she is a wonderful performer. She can pull the tears right out of you. A great 'torch' song singer. Nice reaction guys. Peace and Love as Ringo says.

K.D. Lang is a Canadian artist who has an amazing voice. She covered this song on song on her own, which was one of Roy Orbison's originals. This video of the two of them is incredible. Another beautiful reaction to an amazingly beautiful song. I love your real, heartfelt reactions.

Oh, my word! I had no idea they had performed that song together. Roy - the legend, and KD - the legend in the making. She was so young there - sweet. Yes, definitely Elvis vibes - same era and musical style (when the song was first written, of course). I wonder if Elvis also sang it. He sure could have done it justice! Oh! I looked it up and found this: "Elvis never recorded one of Roy Orbison's songs, a clear mark of respect in that he did not believe he could better him." How about that!

Roy Orbison had such a tragic life... His wife died in a motorcycle acccident, and he later lost his two eldest sons in a house fire. Even his trademark dark glasses came from crippling stage fright. Yet his voice gave joy to millions. 😎

KD Roy in his younger days was the most powerful and emotional voices of his day. KD was honoring him, her cover of So in Love or her Hallelujah or Miss Chaterlane. Orbison was a huge star in his day and then later join the supergroup The Traveling Wilburys with George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty and Jeff Lynn. Unfortunately, he passed away while he was still enjoying being in a band with them. I think right before their second album came out

My FAVORITE performance is from: MTV Unplugged Also… The song: “HALLELUJAH” Leonard Cohen, who wrote the song, has said that the way K.D. sings it is his FAVORITE. The most AMAZING performance is from: The 2010 OLYMPICS!
