Your thumbnail of Tucker Carlson's face, let alone larger than Roy's, and titled it in such a way to imply Roy's daughter confirming something that is tied to both insinuating a nasty outcome for Roy's stellar reputation and legacy in light of Carlson's reputation for toxicity and Fox's firing him same day you posted this... Back in 1976 I was in my early 20's and racing dirt bikes around the Apple Valley area. One Friday night about 1:00 AM I stopped at a gas station off Bear Valley RD to fill up the gas cans and gas up my El Camino pulling the trailer. My buddy Steve was filling up the gas cans when an older P.U. truck pulling a horse trailer stopped at the opposite gas pump. Out of the drivers seat jumped Roy Rogers. There was nobody else around at this gas station in the middle of nowhere (back then) at 1:00 AM but Me, Steve and Roy Rogers. We talked with Roy for almost a 1/2 hour about Apple Valley and his vision of making western movies in the area and the reasons why.....Roy Rogers, Great guy, The Real Deal.

Many people may not understand what you meant in the message. The disease that struck down your brother was poliomyelitis, commonly referred to as polio. It devastated millions through deaths and disabilities. In my family of four, three contracted it with varying levels of effects. My mother was paraplegic throughout almost all of my life until her death. My father had a very bum leg and developed alcoholism early in my life, and allowed it to wreck most of his relationships. He died long before my mother because of the maladies he got due to his alcoholic activities. My sister also caught the bug, but was somehow blessed to have nearly zero effects in her life. We are two diametrically opposite people, and she acted in a way that was a betrayal of me after the death of Mom, so I no longer have a sister. I was very lucky that I never was infected with the virus and vaccines became available to destroy the virus that hurt so many before, including your brother, bless his immortal soul.

They were so kind and generous with their time as they talked to myself and the other young folks that gathered around. I remember the car they arrived in. It was a big white convertible with a silver dollar studded saddle between the front bucket seats, six guns for door handles and longhorn horns protruding from the front grille. The interior was accented with various western themed ornaments. Im 68 now and still think of that day and realize they were happy to be there by the genuine smiles on their faces. Westerns were pretty much every kids passion in the '50s & early '60s. Frankly, I couldn't get enough of them. All the boys wanted to be cowboys, & the girls wanted to be Annie Oakley! I was about 6 or 7 when Duncan Rinaldo & Leo Carillo -- aka Cisco & Pancho -- appeared at the Michigan State Fair. They were riding their horses in a large corral & doing various tricks. My Dad lifted me onto the wooden fence so I could see them better. (In those days, the idea of security was very different.) Leo Carillo rode right up to me, smiled & asked my name. When I told him, he said I was pretty & then leaned over & patted my cheek! To this day, I still remember that experience vividly. Over the years I've had the opportunity to meet various other celebrities......but none ever meant as much to me as Pancho!!

The major problem with "people of faith" is that their faith is based, by definition, on believing that which has no evidence. This can, in certain situations, be very dangerous and, as such, having critical thinking skills, a healthy measure of skepticism and an ability to make decisions based not on dogma but, instead, on facts helps to make our world safer and enables conditions that preserve democracy. Otherwise I totally agree with you.

I remember going to his museum when I was a little kid. My family and I were in the picture gallery when it was announced on the loud speaker that Roy and his wife were there. I was little and got easily turned around. My Mom spotted me and asked what I was up to. Turns out I was the only one to hear the announcement. I told her and she gathered the rest of the family. I'll always remember how tall, bright, and cool looking he appeared in that outfit. And how happy he and his wife seemed. He was such a nice guy. It was one of my best memories, if not the best of that vacation.

Roy n Dale were outstanding souls. They were down earth real people. They overcame many tragic events in their lives. I met dale Evans in person in lichen of Abilene tx civic center while catering the event. She was terrific..humble sweet..knew she wanted a certain kind if dessert..I found it for her she thanked me graciously. She gave talk about her life centered around Christ and his values. Said In lichen area she missed Roy whenever away from him. Told her my brother Danny Had middle name of rogers because my mom a big fan. Their life wasn't perfect. They had bad times too but they knew for certain Christ was in every aspect of their lives and their kids lives and they were glad that he was there for them when they really needed Him to be. Dale said they couldn't have faced some things in their. Lives without him. She was a beautiful soul like he was. I wore my Roy roger kids guns n boots from 4 to 12 years old. All kids wanted be Roy rogers and ride trigger in a rodeo. And chase away the evil bad guys. Yes today we need lots of Roy Rodgers in this world. He never used violence in anger. He's with god and I'm sure the sons of the pioneers singing cool clear water...medical rose...happy trails to Roy..dale..kids. And all those that learned something from his great example of a life well lived with purpose. Happy trails to you till we meet again. R.g.Deatherage Norman Oklahoma.

He and his wife were a huge deal to those who were very young back in the day. Here's one about Roy most don't know. During the early to mid 70's there was a TV show called Celebrity Bowling. It featured celebrities of the TV day and placed them on teams to bowl against each other. Most were terrible (I don't think Gale Storm bowled over 40). One show, Roy Rodgers shows up on a team. He was still fit and wore a western style bowling shirt with his name on the back. Roy was also using his own custom ball. He throws like 8 strikes in a row to start and bowls well into the 200's. The other celebrities and announcer were dumbfounded that they never knew this about Roy. Roy was a ringer.

I was born in 1949 and grew up with Roy Rogers. Cowboys were all the rage from the 1950's to the mid 60's, especially on this new device called the TV. I remember Roy's weekly TV show where he and Dale would sing "Happy Trail to You" at the end of every show. My wife, who is about 10 years younger than me, once said to me after we watched a Roy Rogers' movie, he was still a very young man, "Now, that's a good looking man," no truer words spoken. I'd guess most of the folks watching this video won't have a clue who Roy Rogers is but this is a good way to get the word out, thanks for your video and the memories.

Roy appeared in a British Boys magazine called "The Eagle". Every week I got the mag to read his exploits. He ran a competition in "The Eagle" where you could enter and possibly win a month long vacation at his Ranch. He was one of my all time hero's. I could never win that competition because my father worked for the National Newspaper that owned the Eagle. I still entered every year though. I'm 77 now and live in Canada. I and my buddies often reminisce on our childhoods and Roy, Trigger and Bullet are often in our ramblings. I had a Roy Rogers Hat with the double crown, 2 six guns, and of course the Roy Rogers neckerchief (wild rag). This video brought back so many happy happy memories of all those years gone by. Thank you.

As a kid, I used to watch Roy Rodgers and Dale Evans on a regular basis. I was even privileged to have met Roy when I was around 14 in Wyoming where he was a regular guest for a hunting competition. He was out at the location where the competitors sighted in their rifles for the hunt. He signed an autograph for me and sat and talked with my brother and sister. He loved his fans and especially children. When we move from Wyoming, we went to California within a couple hours of his ranch. He and Dale had a restaurant and museum in Apple Valley. My 80 year old grandmother came to visit us, and my parents took her up to the restaurant to show her around. While they were there, Roy came in and was looking for Dale (whom he called momma). My parents introduced him to my grandmother. From what I heard, she was totally tongue tied as he was the first celebrity she ever met.

We drove to California in 89. We stopped off at the Roy Rogers and Dale Evans museum. My dad was enthralled. We we’re looking at some displays and my dad turned and there was Roy. He chatted with us for about 20 mins and took pictures with us. What a wonderful man.

I got to see Roy once in person at the yearly St Louis Fireman's Rodeo. He played his guitar and sang riding Trigger around the arena while Bullet walked alongside them. This is a fond memory from childhood.

When I was a little kid he was one of my big heroes. I'm glad to hear that he was as good a person offstage as the one he portrayed on screen, maybe even better.

Now this was a particularly excellent podcast. Not only informative but it discussed values that all of us should have and live everyday. Continue on this path and you could be great. This is the type of material that is really excellent!

He truly was the King of the Cowboys & the video tribute by Dusty to his dad, is a fitting memorial to one of the greatest men to ever ride a horse.

I am from Australia and we loved Roy Rogers and Dale Evans. As old fashion as The Roy Rogers Show was, this is what is needed for the Children of today 2023. An Icon , Decent Family Man and Wife with good Healthy Family Values. A pleasure to watch this Video. God Bless. 🇦🇺🇷🇸❤️
