Nice, detailed room tour! Interesting they have a subwoofer in this room. I wish they outfitted their shower curtains with glass. Freedom of the Seas regular balcony has glass

Thanks so much for this video. We will be sailing on our first cruise September 4 on Liberty, 7 night Western Caribbean. We currently have a spacious balcony midship. Because I have issues with daily nausea(without being at sea) we thought this location would be best. I just got an invitation to Royal Up to JS or GS. I thought that the beds were supposedly more comfortable in these suites which would be great. Also was told by some that we are sailing with that the internet package was included as well as drink package. After reading though your comments this doesn’t seem to be the case. Another perk is COFFEE! My fear is that if we do get a grand suite, the location will not be great and we will be stuck. Happy to have found your channel!

We did once or twice but preferred going elsewhere since we had the drink package and friends who didn’t have suite lounge access so we wanted to be somewhere with them!

Hi! I was wondering what the sea perks were for upgrading to the Grand suite? Did it come with the free internet package? Drink Package? Specialty restaurant dining comped?

Thanks for watching! Not as many perks as one might think. The extra perks we noticed included a water bottle and fruit brought to our room most days, access to Chops for breakfast when open, access to the Suite Lounge which has food and drinks (not very different from the buffet and other bars) but no specials on the drinks, dining or internet package.

Like Coastal Kitchen in bigger ship, did they provide any restaurant in Independence Of The Sea as Grand Suite guest perk?

No coastal kitchen that I remember. I think they do chops breakfast so you don’t have to do MDR or Windjammer

My accessible room on another ship was bigger than that grand suite and I just watched 2 other videos with bigger suites on royal so I'd be disappointed if my room was like this. I cruise a lot with royal but I have my frustrations. I'm thinking I need one of those loft suites. They are amazing.

Did you get to have a complimentary upgrated menu room service for the Grand Suite and or do the Jr. Suites have that also? Would love to be able to have the food from Main Dining room brought up and either eat in the room or on the balcony. thx

We actually didn’t try any room service. We like to get out of the room but know friends who did the room service free and enjoyed it. Don’t think it was the full menu option

Onboarding process was thru the suite line - much shorter. They did give us access to the diamond lounge or suite lounge area not sure if they still do that though, access to different lounge area on pool deck, bathrobes, bathroom was much better, espresso machine,

We're booked for July same itinerary in a JS and now I want to try and bid up to a GS as the decor et al appears so much more comforting & inviting than that of a JS.....oh my!! Thanks again! Oh and Q. as i see you have replied to others whereas some vloggers fail on that, is when you bid and won - what perks did you get in the GS? I know that when one books, one gets the perks but have heard when specifically bidding, either some or not all perks are included in the bid upgrade. TIA, Connie

It has been a little while since we did this but some of the perks I remember from the GS was got a water bottle a couple times in our room along with snack (fruits, sweets, etc) and access to the Suite Lounge. We had all perks you should get at full price it seemed, including double points! Good luck and have fun

$200 per person for that upgrade I think is well worth it! I have a cruise booked for December and was given the option to "royal up" but a grand suite wasn't offered(junior only). The minimum bid for that was $200 so I'm EXTREMELY JEALOUS I wasn't able to get the same deal 😩 lol I'm curious though, on average, when does royal Caribbean let you know if your bid was accepted??

Shoot we are cruising again in December as well and were hoping to get upgraded to the Grande Suite again for 200 per person. We were super stoked about it, I guess we should just be happy that we cruised early enough to get the chance. We (and our friends) found out that our Royal Up bids were accepted within 2-4 days of the cruise, Good Luck!

I did the royal up for my upcoming Oct Cruise. I did the minimum for both a JS or a GS. Have not heard yet. I am more than 15 days out still.

When you do Royal Up do you get the same benefits for suites? I loved being able to take breakfast into the steakhouse when we sailed on Freedom! The buffet was insanely crowded each day.

But due to more kids activities offered at royal carribian actually paying for my cruise to Mexico. How is the casinos at navigator boat. Also does the casino give u good comps etc thanks

Awesome thank you! We have been on Navigator, I am pretty sure our day one video some. Nothing big or special but most of the casinos have enough that you can find a few machines you will enjoy. We have been happy with the comps being free cruises but don’t expect much in terms of free play and others

Leaving for freedom of the seas- in Dec. we are currently in a junior suite (cruise was originally booked for May 2020 so they upgraded us quite a bit) do you think if we bid for a grand suite we would get it? Or should we stay with the junior considering we didn’t need to pay anything extra?

Ships are definitely more and more full now, I think you will need to bid over the minimum which is what I bid when I did this video. We are currently on a ship and tried 50-100 more than min to get the Junior suite and did t get it. Always worth trying I feel have fun

We didn’t eat in the main dining room this time - we did the ultimate dining package, so we took advantage of all the specialty restaurants! In December, we plan to try out the main dining area!

Oh man hope you get a good one. We are going on a cruise in August and won with a bid $290 per person for an upgrade from Interior to Balcony and got it. It is a little higher than some but its a small ship - Enchantment of the Seas so there are a lot fewer balcony rooms to choose from.

@@JoshRachael Nice, been on Enchantment this will be our 25th cruise. We've done the majority of those on Royal, you should sign up for their crown and anchor program if you haven't already and get points for each cruise you take with them/perks.
