Nice to see you back Mr Brown. And thanks for the ride around north central Essex. Points can work very well with a mechanical advance / retard unit. Many years ago I had a Reliant Robin and it used to wreck a set of points every 3000 miles until I connected an electronic unit that reduced the voltage through the points and then amplified it back to 12 volts into the coil. The points stayed untouched for the next 20,000 miles. Oh! and for those that never owned a Robin, it was a great little car. Reliable, fast as a mini, cheap to run and the fibregalss body did not rot.

Hi I love those ride out in the Suffolk/essex countryside on my triumph rocket 3gt some would say bit much for the little back roads but it’s as smooth and comfy for them roads as much as munching the motorway miles and going down roads when you don’t know where you are or going to come out is the excitement of the ride as long as you keep your eye on the fuel level and top up coz you don’t know when the next filling station will appear ride safe take care might bump into you one day I’m from Colchester
@Volcanicbrown18787 ай бұрын
Coo, Nicholas! I am not sure I would be wanting to maul a Rocket 3 around some of the roads I ride. and cos your from Colchester, I take back everything I said about Essex being the dark county! We all know that's Norfolk!!

@@Volcanicbrown1878 ye nothing exciting about Essex really I prefer Yorkshire fantastic roads countryside for bike riding but such a long way to go really I prefer Suffolk at the moment yes triumph is big but surprisingly not a bad backroad ride really just have to ride sensibly for the road and conditions then down the A14/A12/120 for home give it a blast then😂anyway take care 👋

It's great getting out for a ride & getting lost.NZ has alot of gravel roads & these this guy on KZbin called Mark Belringer & HE is a big RE fan & got a few bikes.HE rides all over NZ 🇳🇿 & on gravel roads in his Classic 500 & got on/off tyre's & takes it on gravel,dirt,grass roads & river crossings. HE takes it over the gravel track through the South Island more suited to a ADV bike or Dual sports & has become a bit of a RE legend here.HE lives on West Coast of North Island & plenty of off the beaten roads,tracks,paper roads, gravel & dirt also got a Interceptor with on/off road tyre's & Scrambler pipes.HE also got older videos of riding RE 350 Bullets through lower North Island on gravel roads. HE's retired now so gets all over NZ 🇳🇿 & down to South Island every year for Annual RE weekend.Check his last 2 videos out last video is on farm track on Classic 500 & one before that across the Southern Divide in South Island with many river crossings with another Classic 500 in ADV territory & makes it across South Island & all gravel & it shuts down over winter. Welcome back Mr Brown , it's always good to see one of your videos . I enjoyed the little trip through Lavenham , I see TAYM left his Rolls Royce parked outside the boozer again ! I have just put the distributor back together , after a quick strip down to see if all was well , on a motorcycle and once again admired the simplicity of a mechanical device to provide an engine with a spark when required . I wholeheartedly agree with you : What need have we with electronic ignition ? I can carry a spare plug , points , condenser and a pair of advance springs in a matchbox in my pocket and should I break down hundreds of miles from home ,that's all the parts I need to get me home . What happens when [ not if ] the electronic black box gives up the ghost on the road ? Credit card and tow company , and a long wait probably .
