The 1st bike I revved as a boy was a Honda 750four(late 68/69) & most the bikes I saw for 20+ years had the long seat, the air cooled engines, and looked like today's Scrambler/Cafe Racer. And it seems like Yamaha had a "Scrambler" model but I was so young I do not know for sure? I still like the simplicity of an air cooled bike, less to worry with & they're bullet proof bikes but IDKnow if Royal Enfield bikes have a good reputation in the US or if the parts & all are easily got? I'll always like the style you are talking about. That's a bike to me. peace

it is not just that...most manufacturers overcharge their customers a lot....you take the honda cb350, or triumph 400s or the bmw gs 310 or the ktm's smaller displacement bikes, almost all of them are made in india and then exported to other countries but the price difference between the indian sold bikes and exported bikes are much larger incase of all these manufacturers when compared to RE

Here we are hearing thaat RE is working on a new 750 engine ( alleged ) with GT styling with couls all around, its still in testing phase so its going to take atleast a year to have any confirmation from RE. Yah also RE just introduced a Scram with 440 engine yesterday.
@RS23545Ай бұрын
can we add even taller suspension on it?
@gerardungerman1442Ай бұрын
I agree that RE makes the best looking retro motorcycles out there. It's just that... with so many hardly-ridden used bikes out there, WHY BUY NEW ?!? In the U.S., used Sportsters can be found for a dime a dozen (almost!) and can be customized in any conceivable ways including into scramblers of course with ubiquitous parts and mechanics everywhere.... Man! What a dilemma really. I'd love to own one of these beautiful bikes but it makes no financial sense for me unfortunately.
@stevecrawford7814Ай бұрын
I agree, I have two better bikes already. But I’d like one of these R.E.
@hugotippleАй бұрын
Financial sense is debatable. One may perceive a lot of value in having a machine knowing that no one else abused it and then desguised the problems. But more than that, these bikes are a breath of fresh air. They look more legit and classic. Therefore, it stands out from the crowd. The bauty is the simplicity sometimes. All the technology on current bikes are getting a bit boring. And there are too many electrical stuff to fail. The RE's have a simple mechanic. I have a Continental GT 650 since 2021. I've made some mods to it to complete the Cafe Racer look that comes 70% ready from the factory. Every now and again someone asks me about it on the street and compliments. We all know that the BMW 1200 GS is a better bike in almost every aspect (and much more expensive), but I doubt they are such good conversation starters as these Royal Enfields, which are less intimidating and more fun. Having a cool bike with your own personal twists is a nice way of expressing your personality and life style. It's not all about stats (speed, hp, digital features, number of controls and riding modes, etc).
@itsallabouttheridekeepingi4449Ай бұрын
I had a 2016 Ducati Scrambler they came out , I got the “ urban Enduro “ Enduro was it not 😂😂😂, and it had 150mm of travel front and rear , I believe a bike needs to have a minimum of 170mm to have a basic off road capability, like my Moto Guzzi V85tt, it does good dirt roads and fire trails well , BUT you need to SLOW right down when it gets to wash outs and rocky terrain. V-Strom has 160mm , I also have a heavily modified Honda CRF 300 Rally , SO long story short 😂, the new 650 Royal Enfield Bear is another wolf in sheep’s clothing so to speak due to its 115mm rear and 130mm front ( some sports touring bikes have more travel ) But would probably be good in the twisties due to the extra height- ground clearance over the interceptor etc . And could be decked out to a good touring bike as well .

@saifaldin_Ай бұрын
@ I had a 70hp, 230kg bike for about 5 years; and while I did enjoy it when I had it, I’ve since come to prefer lighter bikes.. pair that with great suspension and good steering geometry, and you’d have a bike that is nimble. Those characteristics are what i look for the most in my bikes, because I like a bike that I can ‘place’ accurately and easily while riding. People in my city drive and ride fairly fast (and a lot of the times carelessly) so I’m more at ease on bikes that I can trust when making sudden manoeuvres (less momentum, less inertia) The bike I currently ride (going on 10 years now) has 125hp (which I rarely use, mind you), but more importantly, it only weighs 180kg wet. For the type of riding I do (and the environment that I ride in) I’d reckon that 70hp is more than enough, but ideally, the bike should weigh less than 180kg.
@jaide1312Ай бұрын
I feel like this bike is a downgrade compared to the Interceptor to be honest. The stock exhaust is super ugly and with the underslung nature of it slip ons might not be an option, and it's gone a bit too far with the blacking out of everything. That TFT dash also is a poor fit for a retro bike, they should have stuck to the twin clocks of the interceptor. I'd definitely get a Triumph 400x or even a Scram 411 over this, since those are also just more capable as scramblers. If only it had some proper high pipes and twin clocks and it would have been a real winner.

What is "the same bike" for you? Same engine? Same frame? All t-shirts are about the same. A cut for the head, two for the arms...but some have have a thicker collar, some are meant to wear a bit looser, the colors vary, the stamp, etc. They're only different to fit the style of each individual. It would be really boring if you could have one style of t-shirt, one style of shirt, one style of sweater, etc. Everybody who wanted to have a short sleeve t-shirt would have the same one. The cool thing is the great variety in the same style (if I can call all these 650cc RE's same style).

Emission regs, rapid currency inflation, corporate greed (make the same money even if the economy is crap) and the attempt to appeal to a young demographic who's tech-addicted are the main reasons the big motorcycle players have abandoned engine development (except in rare cases) and focused on increasing tech every update cycle and ramping up cost every update cycle. Motorcycles lost their essential appeal about 2 decades ago, and ever since have stagnated and gotten more and more digitized and stale, and refined straight out of character. It's happened to Ducati, to Harley, to BMW, to Triumph, to the Japanese brands. As a middle aged person I can remember when times were much more defined. Now it just seems to be motorcycle soup. Every announcement is less and less about a motorcycle, and more and more about designer electronics mounted to it. Royal Enfield seems to have recaptured those previous times. They hit the motorcycle essence and keep the tech mobs away. Here is a question I would ask a motorcycle manufacturer: "If you were to develop a new motorcycle and make it as appealing as possible, but could NOT focus on increased horsepower or increased amenities/tech, what would that motorcycle look like?" I think most of them would have an absolute mental blank.

Let's be honest anyone buying a current RE badged bike imported from the Indian sub-continent is simply trying to get on the nostalgia bandwagon "on the cheap". Aimed in the UK largely at geriatrix trying to relive the youth they never had, the "clones" only link to the heritage on once great British marques is the cheapy plastic replica tank badges and a few stick ons probably from AliExpress. The truth is that if a RE badge is pinned on a donkey, it will still be a donkey. Nice and shinny when new these piles of cachu will corrode easily this winter unless sprayed liberably with Waxoil...........
