Its funny because I've seen people ride it off road no problem at all. It weighs less wet than the triumph Scrambler 900 dry so that must be an advantage in itself as I've seen the Triumph do some pretty serious off road riding. The advantage I think with the Bear is the low upswept pipe which is better for luggage on both sides & it's better for the passenger & it's better for the rider when you're standing up trying to grip the tank with your knees, which on the Triumph is difficult as the pipe is in the way. The downside with this is that you'd have to wheel it into a suspension specialist & get the suspension sorted out on it. Where the Triumph suspension is pretty good as standard.

How does this compare to the Scrambler 400X? The 400X is lighter with a little less power, but is quite a bit lighter. Is the 650 twin a nicer motor for this type of application? Interested in your thoughts. Thanks!

I feel like the Triumph scrambler would be better with almost the same HP but much lighter which is what you need if you take it off road. Feel like the Bear would be too heavy and not a fan of the tubed tire off road of the Bear

I sold my 400x after 8000km --great motor and bike--some worries about electronics for me personally after getting stuck once with it--i travelled with it i put on a siderack and rear rack-overall great bike but bought a NX500 for travel....I am test riding teh Bear 650 though--i love that motor-tourquey and the bike is gorgeous and it looks like they fixed what i didnt like about the INT650--i like i can add on RE parts to customise it easily--i wont offroad with it--its a great looking daily rider i can put bags on for weekend trips--love that 270 motor now with tire sizes i can get what i want on the rims--the INT650 18's sucked that way

Stock tires on any bike are generally use them and lose them. Then upgrade to a better tire. For the rider who occasionally goes on fire road type trails this bike seems to fit the bill. The 650 engine will be fine to do the 60 mph roads. If your wanting to do rougher off road then IMHO go for the lighter, taller , smaller displacement engine models that when you drop the bike out in the middle of no where by yourself, you can pick the bike up yourself and ride on. I think with any bike you have to be honest with yourself about what kind of rider you are. Plenty of big adventure bikes parked out front of Starbucks that never see dirt roads.

For me, the music is OK!! brings dynamism to the video, but go with the majority vote. The replica one with the green frame is now a very strong contender along with the BSA 650 and RE classic 650. 7500 euros, so not 'cheap' though... but compared to a Triumph it's a bargain

The fact that the tires require a tube makes it a non-starter for me. On a bike better suited to pavement, why not have tubeless tires? RE makes tubeless options for the Himalayan 452 and Interceptor 650.

try taking 5 punds of pressure out of the tyres when you go off road & see how it goes then. You're waisting your time with a 650 twin scrambler off road running road tyre pressures-simply won't work.

@@Jagknorr haha yes you are correct--i owned teh 400X for 8000km--the Metzler Street Karoos are a very good tire that looks good on these bikes--silica for rain--not great offroad but the 400X has very stiff suspension not worth it anyways offroad riding on that bike--too painful --Trailmax Raid tire are very interesting too--the Bear might need suspension upgrade but for sure new tires to start

Thanks for the review matey. Ticks all my boxes even though I do not know manual gears. Seems a more refined, all round and utilitarian bike to most, compared to the Triumph 500 I would go for this over price, looks and larger engine capacity, the guerialla 450 to in that respect maybe even over this because of the higher set height.
