Man, I can't wait til I get my Bullet. I started out in MC with a VStar 650. Great bike, but oddly for an American, I don't do a lot of highway driving. I like the back roads. The 350 is going to be perfect. Love your rides and talks! Diolch a mewn

Bore Da, thanks for comment, I'm sure if you love the back roads the Bullet will be perfect, the more you ride them the better they get, running in is a bit tedious, I basically road mine daily for a couple of weeks to get through the running in period. 😈

I too am in the USA, I ride a VTX1800 and Goldwing. Last year I bought a Classic 350... I love it, I prefer the back roads as well. You will likely enjoy Bullet! Break in takes time, but it teaches you to enjoy the ride, you will see things you missed before!

Every bike has their own personality. Each one adding more experience to the ride.

Nice road - we’ve riden there and enjoyed the pastry delights of Erwood! Loved listening to your story 😊

Thanks for comment, it was a lovely day for a ride, I was warm enough but it's still very cold and roads are filthy with salt, bike wash today! 😀

I remember so many of those bikes you mention and even the American cars - including when you turned up where I worked to show us your latest car and when I went outside to see it, I swear it was still bouncing up and down on its suspension where you had bounced up onto the pavement to park. Great days

You got me missing hearing my own little Classic! Can't wait for the weather to break here. Thanks for sharing!

I guess we are quite lucky here, even though it gets quite cold we don't get much snow, so as long as we are prepared to wash the road salt off afterwards riding is possible. Still be great when warmer weather is back, not too long now!

My first bike was a 197ccJames and then like you I had an ex GPO Bantam. I hand painted it black from the original GPO red, using Woolworths Household gloss paint. Passed my test in 1964 on a BSA C15 250cc Single and have owned a bike of some sort ever since. Still riding, but at 80 I find a 350cc Maxi Scooter easier to get on and off. I injured my legs (Not on a bike) when I was 75 and had to part with my beloved Moto Guzzi Californian 1100cc after 18 years. Just too heavy with wonky legs. But the Scooter is a real eye opener, a great ride, and I'm looking forward to some summer touring. 👍

Love the California, had one myself before my Triumph America, great to ride but as you say a bit too tall and heavy especially for my short legs, enjoy riding your scooter, spring is just around the corner🤞

I recently bought a 2024 Signals edition 350 to keep my Guzzi and a couple of classic bikes company and I like it. It is not much lighter than my Guzzi to handle and manoeuvre and at 86 years young it suits me fine.

Lovely story about your previous vehicles I had an Bmw R65 amongst others & a '72 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu hardtop with a 305 cubic inch V8 ...which was considered an old lady's engine when new!!! Was your Sportster the 883 or one of the larger engines? Cheers & take care
@powysrider3 күн бұрын
Hi, thanks for comment, in total I had 3 sportsters 2 were 883 and the other a 1200. The one I kept for thirteen years was 883, great bikes! All the best...

Loved hearing about your bikes and cars. Was the Suzuki a GT 250? First one with electronic ignition. My mate has bought a 1956 Ford Thunderbird which has been reconditioned in Texas and is going out next month to sign it off and ship back. It certainly looks of its time 😁
@powysrider13 күн бұрын
Sorry the only thing I remember about the Suzuki was that it had a separate tank for the two stroke oil, '56 T'bird sounds amazing 👌 hope you get to ride in it. Thanks for your support👍
@dr.chrismort844813 күн бұрын
@@powysrider yep sounds like the GT 250👍. Re the T bird, I think the owner is going to ship it to an area close to the French / Spanish border and keep it in a heated bubble type garage
