It's interesting that their factory-bike has a fairing, 150-section rear-tyre, better-suspension/brakes but standard-pistons plus a 'Cam' and porting to get another 15hp over stock . They are relatively cheap-upgrades in the Grand-Scheme of things, especially done over-time . Dave NZ

I've had an Interceptor for 10 months and about 2,400 miles. I'm still happy with it. It checks quite a few boxes for me: it looks great, sounds great, great gas mileage (about 55-60mpg) handles well, lots of aftermarket stuff. It'll cruise all day at 75mph no problem. Power and torque are plenty for most purposes. The six-speed gearbox is nice. The brakes work fine, the ergonomics are fine. It has a likeable personality and it's gotten a lot of compliments. But it's not a bike I'd want to ride to Alaska on. Or probably even 200 miles. The reason being that the suspension and seat are both stiff and kind of cobby. Around town it's fine but it wouldn't be fun riding it all day long. That and the foot pegs demand you work around them some because they're in the way when you put your feet down. The right mirror vibrates (the left one is fine) and it's hard to impossible to read the digital gas gauge in bright sunlight. Those are my only complaints.

I had one as a loaner for the day and I loved it, the motor is a beauty (coming from someone who rides a 108bhp 1200), the riding position caused me pain in town, but on the open road the wind at speed took the pressure off the wrists. It reminded me of my old 250 in the 70's that I added ace bars to, I was young again! The only major drawback was that my knees were below the tank and therefore I couldn't grip the tank when braking. So for now it's a no go.

It is for sure a great fun bike that really feels old school to ride 👍 Just seemed to fit my dimensions great, I found it very comfortable. Did find the leg angle to be quite aggressive but I suppose that is the style.

I went with an INT650 and have enjoyed 5000 issue free miles so far. I actually think the exhaust tone is perfect, because I hate overly loud exhausts. I went with the INT because I thought I loved the GT perhaps too much (lol)! Yeah, I felt so cool on that thing that I was afraid I would get a little too cocky with it for just getting back into motorcycling. The INT lets me cruise along in a mellow manner. I'd sure love to have a week or so with a GT though, even though I love the INT. The 650 engine is so smooth, but still has character, and they did a great job with the fueling. It's very responsive with almost no twitchiness. Choosing a color can be tough!

👍 I would also go for the Interceptor, just prefer the riding position etc... I completely agree, RE have done a great with this engine, so smooth yet retains character. Always faster than I imagine as well. The GT is great fun but think the Interceptor is a better all round bike. Cheers

Congratulations on all the videos you put out in 2022. You could do a recap video ranking your favourite rides! Style is subjective but it my mind that is where RE is doing it right. They don’t just offer the usual black, red or white. They offer great paint schemes with more than one colour. I also happen to like the retro style bikes. Kawasaki with their focus on black and green and KTM with the orange are about the worst offenders. At least Kawasaki offers some nice paint choices on the RS line of bikes, unfortunately only one or two options per model year though.

Thanks for the review. The bars can be adjusted and I found if they are turned in towards you, they are even easier on the back. Quite comfortable as you say. It doesn't have that sports bike punch, but it has its own character, and is happy burbling around in third gear around town. I love the sound and classic look of the stock pipes and as you only hear wind noise above 60kmh anyway, I will keep them. Cheers 👍🇦🇺

@@Mrflymess There is a locating tab but that doesn't prevent you from moving the bars in or out, or up and down. If you move them in as I did, it restricts the turn lock, but its a trade off.

In 2019 I went to the dealer, test rode a Classic 500 instead and fell in love… and bought that one! Now I’m tempted again to go to the dealer. Be prepared. You test ride one, you'll buy one. Toughest decision might be color choice. I have an INT650 with 5000 miles with no issues and I love it. It still looks great with the GIVI hard cases I've installed.

Hi from an old biker in Ireland 🇮🇪, definitely interested, I used to ride a 1956 Norton Dominator and miss that parallel twin bark, currently I runaround on an old Diversion 600 which is fine for rural Ireland but looks shite 🤣 this bike in the shiny (Mr clean) livery is nice, ride safe mate 👍

Good review, thanks! I had the Conti for two years (in blue), a beautiful bike. But in the end it had a bit too little power and I found the saddle and the seating position uncomfortable. Now I ride a Ducati GT 1000.

Generally hunched over to reach the clip on handle bars. Like them !! my preference would be the Interceptor but they are good looking machines great colour range too if a might under powered at 47 break mainly for that bit extra you might need in certain situations but hey what do I know 😉👍

I have a new one bought in Ireland royal Enfield dealer in adare Ireland 9400e plus extras loud pipes extra 1100e way cheaper than a Honda or suzuki buy one you, ll love it doing 70 mph fells 130 on a sports bike but you can stop safely i love it
