Hello ! Great video I am facing similar issue with front drain bolt 12mm. Last time when I changed engine oil I noticed few threads came along with drain bolt. When I tightened it was tightening to certain extent . I believe the next time if I unscrew definitely I will not be able to screw back. Instead of draining from this screw can I open the main drain bolt and run engine for 15 secs so that crank case oil gets drained. please advice whether I can start the engine and drain the oil or need to do coiling work As you did, also can I use vacum cleaner to remove metal residue. Thanks in Advance.

never open front drain plug since it is direct opening of crank chamber. even if there is oil left while oil change interval nothing will happen to engine. now since you have a damage thread so just do the re-threading but careful with the burr. even if u try to flush the engine it won't work fast. vacuum cleaner won't work. just put ample grease on TAP burr will stick to it...don't worry but next time don't open that bolt. . i hope this will help you

it was done but the video got damaged....will do it again very soon...busy in my workshop with other bikes...so give me some time. thanks for suggestion though.

only if you are dismantling the engine. otherwise in oil change intervals you don't need. since it is the main crank chamber. the oil has to be there every time when you start the engine. if no oil then big end pin damage. new oil takes time to go there. so better to keep old oil which will get mixed up with new in engine roll. so generally open only rear main drain plug and strainer.

I guess even the other drain cover threads are damaged..the one which holds the oil pickup filter.

Good explanation but I have some suggestions for better results... * Join air connection from air breathing pipe and tap with grease, continue air flow from oil sump to oil drain hole will never allow burr entry inside of oil sump cavity. You didn't discuss OR explain about tap thread size and heli coil specifications (Business monopoly ?), Heli coil driving tang can break by twisting with nose plier and can be taken out with nose plier. Anyway, It is costly but one-time life long solution. Procurement of tool set is useful for mechanic but not for bike user (as it is one time job for customer).

i would have not posted if i wanted to make monopoly. every bike has different thread. some can buy the tool some cant. some cant do the job some can. depends on individual. there is a possibility he can suggest his machinist to this job to avoid damages if done just by seeing video. The video i made for suggesting purpose. not for monopoly purpose. the suggestion of buying tool is good for those people who are having better prosperity. thanks for watching video and comment sir.

When i was removing my RH cover one bolt came with more than half of the threads , I managed with anabond some how no leakage yet , but want to fix that ; is this the same way we can do sir ...?

It is Heli coil... It should order with it's threading tap and holder... As per me it is one time job and this set is costlier. For mechanics, it is OK but for bike user it is dead investment. You can order it from online platform... This guy didn't give us a tap size and specification of heli coil...(Wast range of heli coils are available in market,first we have to select heli coil according to plug threads and according to heli coil outer threads, selection of tool holder is possible).

primary chain tensioner. generally it never breaks...

To clean the Burr, take a Johnson Bud with grease in it's tip and clean the thread inside.

Engine body is of Aluminium alloy... If you fix plug with torque wrench, it never spoil... But if you over tight the plug, aluminium threads will definitely get stripe. It is mistake from our side, not from RE factory...
