@apurva dev I haven't seen that, I have seen the Interceptor 650 mocked as off road version at the bike shows. The Himalayan is obviously not going to have the Interceptor frame. RE are looking to push into the 750cc class and I think a new big single and a 750 twin is where the R and D money is being spent now.

Take another look at KZbin and use the search-function with review or VS Himalayan. There many more but take a peak at nathanthepostman and Itchy Boots. Both gave equally genuine reviews. Hell, just take a look at the vlogs Noraly made with Basanti and Dhanno and tell me she didn't give a genuine 10.000 and 36.000 km review!

Great review! I rode a Himalayan for 10,000 kms commuting and travelling before selling it. I really liked it, but it was a bit too underpowered. I did love the fact that it used so little fuel, however, and I had few problems with it, except for the head bearings, which had to be replaced (under guarantee). I agree that the seat is a real weak point, and I'm sure the new one is much more comfortable. I ended up getting a Suzuki XF650, which is actually a very similar bike, but has twice the horsepower.

The Himalayan is a great bike if it fits your needs. When you live in an area where roads are long and fast, there's more of a need to have enough power to keep up and some in reserve too. Both my bikes are 48 and 50hp. That's Min. for me. Otherwise I would prob. buy one.

It was great and now I will never ride a big bike again , less is more especially if you want a really good adventure off motorways :)
@walkerhjk
@walkerhjk 4 жыл бұрын
The Himalayan is not built for motorways, it is a 'go anywhere' bike, a little underpowered perhaps but lots of torque which is ideal for trials type riding, THe only complaing I have is the fuel capacity although you can carry up to alother possible 10 litres in cans on the front guards.. BMW have an interesting auxiliary 7 litre tank fits alongide the rear wheel and on the other side from the silencer. perhaps RE could make something along those lines. Howevwer the RE is pretty economical anyway

Great video. I agree with your dad on the classic style of the Royal Infield. It’s good looks, color combination, and great style even with the accessories are usually found in much more expensive bikes👍 I think he would only change two things about the bike because he took too long to say the seat LOL. Like you, I’m looking at getting the CB500X ABS because of more power but the Royal Enfield is all around perfect for that region and most people that just want to enjoy true riding while looking good and saving some money without sacrificing fun and style 🤙🏼👍

Great review, I really agree about the power aspect, it's not about having 100hp, but if it did have an extra 10/15 hp it'd be more useful for longer trips and riding 2-up, don't think it needs the 650 twin in it, but a higher output single cylinder would be PERFECT. Hope the next variant makes some slight improvements ;)
