The only 1:10 general overall answer to this chassis issue with the Himalayan 450 is shit manufacturing quality ! Royal Enfield has been synonymous with producing junk since time immemorial.

I have an bs4 himalayan 411 of which the chasis broke a couple of days ago, It was a near death situation for me,the bike didn’t have an accident nor did fell ,I managed to control and stop aside, first thing I realised is the seating position went low after that i checked my bike and found that chasis at the handle came apart, I resemble same incident from the ladakh and went through some research and found there were hundreds of cases of bs4 himalayan chasis getting broken luckily for them it broke within warranty period and chasis got replaced for free. But for my bike it happens to take 6 years.Never in my life I thought that my bikes chasis gonna break. So, I contacted customer care for any replacement since it’s Royal Enfield’s mistake of providing faulty chasis but they said it isn’t possible since the warranty has been expired and they said that it isn’t royal enfields fault, well left with no option i tried to claim with via insurance but wasn’t possible since the bike didn’t met with an accident. Thought of changing the chassis on my own but found that the chassis might cost more than 30 k.. I can’t afford that kind of money in the present state .Im looking for your opinion on this Vikas Sir

Company has offered the owner to replace the chassis only if he posts on his profile publicly that his motorcycle broke because of the aftermarket crash guard. Do u think he has any other option? Also sirji why don't you have a look at the black Himalayan photos, there is absolutely no crash guards installed on that bike. Could yoo please confirm this.

Investing 3.5 lakhs on a bike and live at the risk of its chassis breaking.. this is Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 u want to say. Instead Its better to go with KTM adventure 350

Why no one is raising the issue of cost cutting by RE ?? They haven't even given the proper back lights on the Himalayan and tried to save more money telling everyone it's a style issue.

It's not funny bro, imagine spending 5000 for crash guard and your see the chassis bent and the engine hanging. His exposè on rackpack and topbox is also eye opening. I didn't know that it affects the structural integrity of the chassis itself. Bike chassis is crazy expensive. People will still sell these garbage overhyped accessories in fancy looking stores. Aftermarket accessories are a serious gamble.

I want to give one suggesstion Just like you Ignore Rude and Nonsence comments, dont even Talk or bring that topic into your Discussion, just talking about the Hateful commenters is like giving importance to them. I was in a good mood listening to about your opinion about Chasis Cracking issue, Than why endup talking about haters and abusive commenters?? Please Ignore them Totally and continue your topic, Thanks.

thickness of metal tubes of tubular frame of Himalayan 450 looks similar to chasis of my Access 125 . How can u expect any strength from that frame holding such a big engine? cost cutting? chasis designers of RE should be sent back to colleges they had graduated from for review. I also wonder how can a bike weigh 193 kgs with that thin chasis?

The incident with my Duke 390 underscored a critical aspect of bike safety: the potential risks posed by aftermarket modifications, particularly metal crash guards. During a recent accident, an Activa rider attempted to maneuver between my bike and another vehicle from the wrong side. Tragically, the Activa's components got entangled with my aftermarket crash guard, leading to a severe collision. As a result, I was forcefully ejected onto the road, and the crash guard inflicted significant damage to my leg upon impact. This harrowing experience prompted me to discard the aftermarket guard and revert to the original KTM crash guard, prioritizing safety over customization.

Very mature talking,we should go as light as possible and the other parts the podcast but why this kind of disaster happens with the RE only? I’ve never heard of stock bolts are coming out while riding on highways?chassis braking..! I also use ktm 390 adventure, and by the grace of god nothing happened to me yet.I’ve also installed aftermarket heavy crash guard and it saved me several times…the serious issue is the “QUALITY”.RE should work on that first..

Thanx man, i have dominar 400 2017 and i have never used these fancy crash gaurds as I already know this thing, i have advised this to many fellow riders not to use these gaurds as it cause lots of vibrations in motorcycle and that vibrations cause burden on frame , moreover i have fallen on my dominar and these stock crash gaurds are designed so superbly that not a scratch on my bike tank or anywhere, i was shocked to see this,

Hey brother, i have a question, that if RE said that the chassis breaking is caused by the after market crash guard, then why they are also selling the same as an accessory? what will happen if the problem caused again by their own crash guard? cause the crash guard whether it is the aftermarket one or it is the one from RE, mounting nearly the same points of the chassis and doing the same work

Guys. I ride a RE Interceptor 650 I did a Spiti and a month later Ladhak on it. Managed to Crack the sub frame, took it up with RE and they were super gracious in providing me a new chassis even though I was out of 5 yr warranty. You cannot believe how proud and humbled I am by this gesture. This makes me a fan boy for life and I go around telling everyone, you're bikes safe in India if it's a RE. The reason for the Crack was aftermarket tail rack and the load from the rides. So your discussion here is spot on

DEBATING IN RIDER COMMUNITY Very well said about the need for "HEALTHY DEBATING IN RIDER COMMUNITY", kudos for bringing this to fore. Also the most important point you said was 16-17 years older people, getting involved by hurling "DISRESPECTFUL, ABUSIVE & THREATENING" language is a concern. I have personally seen 11, 12, 13... Year olds discussing about SERVICING BUTTON RAISERS (KIND OF MESSAGE GIVEN ACROSS), when I was working in a semi government organization which decides TAXATION AMOUNT. But this is common across all places, all communities nowadays. Because they are brought up in that manner. And i guess they're popularly know as CHAPRIS.

What i am used to is leg guards ,crash guards which have their own clumps and hug the chassis . u do not need to remove any chassis nut to install them like on an Enfield bullet As an adventure bike enfield should have specified it to customers before or should have given a normal tubular chassis . I was expecting it to be even tougher than normal chassis.

Highly informative. In near future, I wanna learn stunt riding and stunting on a motorcycle in general. I have seen professional stunters from all over the world install highly protective looking crashguards. I don't think they are experiencing chassis damage on a regular basis and replacing it again and again. What do you think given the scenario? Is it safe to use when speed is low and frequency of drops are high.

Every thing which is discussed goes parallel with my experience i own a 14 years old fz and had few impacts where the crash gaud got bend i use to thing how bad is the crash guard and poor engineering but after understanding the science and reason for absorbing I now feel why OEM equipment is important. Another great podcast Vikas thanks for the video. #motomentor

Great podcast and great initiative by both of you guys. ❤ Truly, I never understood the need to add 10 or so kilograms of aftermarket piping to a motorcycle that has been meticulously crafted after proper R&D. I have had my Dominar 2017 with stock guards crash at around 120kmph by a friend of mine ( he was relatively safe) and the only damage was scraped crash guards and bar end weights. No bends and not a hair more. Replaced the damaged one for 350. An interesting topic, I believe, is the "Big bike Small bike discrimination in many so-called riding groups in the country." Having faced it myself and frankly and wholeheartedly not giving a damn to such groups, I would like to know an experienced riders perspective on this. Thank you and ride safe❤
