Living in South America and regrettably not being a lottery winner I really appreciate the fact that these mods aren't throwing the bankbook at the bike, like on so many Euro or US channels where dropping a few grand on a bike is seen as no big deal.
@ONTWOWHEELSBEN3 жыл бұрын
yes, i believe the mods are to made ONLY to customise your bike to suit your preferences and so just like everything else there are always going to be a million ways of doing something. I at times find cheap alternatives to make more sense than the BRANDS. Its become a world of branding , hasn't it .

Ben, your technical and riding knowledge and sheer enthusiasm for both riding in general, and for the RE Himalayan are inspiring. I have owned a Himmy for 2 years now and also love it. Of all the mods you have done, and especially since you live in India with its unique driving conditions (that I have experienced) I was just surprised that you have not replaced the horn. I consider the stock one to be both anemic and impossible to hear when I'm driving. So I have purchased the Denali mini soundbomb which is a straight swap out mod that delivers 115db of attention grabbing noise. Definitely required for safety! Otherwise, everything you have done is extremely well engineered and thought-out and I have followed you in installing many of them. Thanks and I will definitely keep watching!!
@ONTWOWHEELSBEN3 жыл бұрын
firstly , thank you for the enthusiastic feedback . i sure know how poor the stock horn is but since you know indian driving/riding conditions let me tell you , the last thing that i want on the roads is attention (this might sound strange to anyone from any other country) . Too many idiotic bikers , too many illegal mufflers , too many road rage episodes . EVERY SINGLE commoner, villager is pissed at anyone who even looks the part. so i keep my calm and wait till i can pass in tight trafiic conditions and on highways i have all my senses working at a 100% to keep me ALIVE . no room for relaxed highway cruising these days .

Cheers Ben and Ashi (is that how you spell your gf's name?) for another top vid. Full of energy and enthusiasm (had you been on the coffee mate?). Planning my first small motorcycle camping trip with a mate (he'll take his car, but I'm trying to talk him around). Did you say that you are a fashion designer? Have you thought about designing some full leather lightweight adventure gear? Most (which isn't many) people I've talked to say you just can't beat leather. My riding gear is kevlar jeans with padding and a Dririder jacket with padding and some leather patches on elbows etc. Anyhoo, all the best, keep 'em coming, thanks.
@ONTWOWHEELSBEN3 жыл бұрын
Ha ha , Thanks friend. yes thats how her name is spelled. Her name is ASHIKA in short ASHI. And yes pls talk your buddy into riding along with you , you dont usually feel ADVENTURE with a car around . Yes i am a fashion designer/educator and yes i have been working on developing a line of jackets with a local brand here for bikers for sometime now . didnt think of leather as a suitable material because of the average temperatures in india . its 30 degrees or more for almost 8-10 months in a year.

An excellent video on the mods you have done and the bike in general - thanks - for me a big part of the ability to off road is the low speed throttle control and the Himalayan seems to have nailed it . I hope the 450 they build does not replace the air cooled Himalayan - i have a 650 with a cooling fan and the noise off road at slow speeds is a pain

the bs4 and upwards fuel injected bikes or cars ( most of them are tuned EXTREMELY LEAN ) are this way , will get worse with newer models . the only way to cool these vehicles down is to richen the AFR mixture . on a carburettor its a simple job , but on a fuel injected machine you need to get a piggyback ecu or a dedicated stand alone ecu. I personally dont like a single change on the new Himalayan in terms of design , functionality wise its upto what each customer wants from his/hers's vehicle. and thank you for the comment .

Ben, I am also trying to catchup with mods on my bike as well thanks to your videos they are wonderfully explained. I went for a 380miles single day ride mostly on tarmac, found few issues that I need to resolve. Most urgent and priority issue is windshield. When stock windshield is in higher position wind is directly hitting my helmet just above eye line making most uncomfortable above 60mph. I would like to get your opinion on "Clip on Windshield", I am 6ft rider, do you think the adjustable windshield you mentioned is going to be sufficient for my height.
