@@kiru4258 adv 390 is better option for touring. Milage will be less but you will have more throttle to play with and do higher top speed(still there is not going to be much time difference in the total travel). If you have budget and don't do off-road as much than always go for 390 adv. I will never suggest anyone to buy BMW g310 cuz there are no service centres atleast 500-800 kms range on the highways. Not even jawa have enough service center in many cities. Always go with the company which has a showroom in at least 100 kms( jawa charge 40rs/km after 100 ke if you are stuck on the highway). Highway touring has danger and challenges on every curve so be ready and prepared. Go for 390 adv it's a awesome bike

Around 140 km/h for a 24.5HP bike stock is nice. If you change the exhaust and the air filter it might be able to push a bit past 140 km/h. Great fuel economy and the sound is awesome! Plus it can literally go everywhere all at a nice price. I want one!!!!

@@mdzaid5925 I know they are made in India in fact since the mid 1950s, about 1955 they were sold to India complete with all parts and machines. However in answer to your question, the Himalayan is not like the old RE 300cc or 500cc Bullet. It is a totally different engine with a Crank Balancer fitted which dampens out the vibration's common in the RE 300cc & RE 500cc Bullet. The Himalayan is not perfect, there are still many very simple improvements at no real cost Royal Enfield could make to improve and enhance the reputation of the RE build quality! Having said that , the Himalayan is a good value motorcycle for the cost. I don't know if the Indian model differs much from the UK/European model in terms of quality. I am enjoying using my Himalayan in all different weather and I find it reliable. I like the Long Stroke engine as it will do what it is designed to do very well. If people want a high speed Sports Bike, then the RE Himalayan is not the bike to purchase. When I wan to ride at a higher speed I ride my Suzuki DL650 XT. Having said that I enjoy and ride the Himalayan much more!

@@rajendertkr I think you misunderstood something. In Austin Texas, Himalayan MSRP is $5100 in the only dealership that sells it. That means $6400 on the road after destination, setup and financial fees, tax and registration. Honda is sold by several dealers and stock cb500x can be put on the road just under $7000 (even less if lucky find). To add Givi racks is another $400 so, $7500 is realistic price for cbx with similar setup. That means price difference is 1000-1500 more for Honda. Honda has 471cc parallel twin vs 400cc thumper, stellar reputation and reliability, great support network and fairly easy diy. With Noraly's mods, that RE is way above price of nicely equipped cbx. Which one would you pick?

The (US spec) 2016 Honda CRF250L that I had (mechanically stock, Shinko 705 tires, racks/3 hard cases, windshield) did 86MPH and was climbing when I backed out to get off at my exit when I still owned it, and would do so regularly (before people say "no it didn't", it's on video and GPS confirmed on the video), but I would imagine it doesn't have the near bottom end torque of the Himalayan (I have great interest in the Himalayan FWIW, this was intended only for comparison sake where you mention in the comments it feels like a 250, not as a "well mine did that!" kinda rude comment or anything like that). Love it in black, good looking bike, my friend! 👍
@MotoSnax
@MotoSnax 5 жыл бұрын
Don't expect too much of the torque. It only has 32 Nm of torque. Now I know you don't use newton meters for torque, but for comparison, the 398cc Suzuki DRZ400 has about 22% more torque than the 411cc. DRZ400 has about 39 Nm of torque. I can feel that difference. It pulls a little bit more powerful than the CRF250L, but not that much. Maybe you won't even feel it because of the extra weight. Anyway, comparing the air cooled Himalayan to the liquid cooled DRZ is apples and oranges.

I changed the gearbox sprocket from the stock 15 tooth to a 16 tooth. I don't know if it increases the top speed, but it makes the highway cruising more relaxed and doesn't seem to effect the first and second gear grunt off road. A good tradeoff I think.
@c.d.3485
@c.d.3485 5 жыл бұрын
This is what I was thinking, that though changing a sprocket might not be able to significantly increase top speed, it may give a bit lower rpm at motorway speeds. Allowing the engine to run a bit more relaxed, rather than close to the rev limiter. Cheers, thanks for the response.

@JimmyRJump
@JimmyRJump 5 жыл бұрын
For clarification, Autobahn is German for highway. This was filmed in Holland, on a piece of highway, not an 'expressway'. An expressway isn't a snelweg/highway. Holland, as most European countries except Germany, have speed limits on the highway. It used to be 120km/h in Holland (same as in Belgium) but I don't know if that has changed over the years.
@MotoSnax
@MotoSnax 5 жыл бұрын
@@JimmyRJump It depends on where you live. A highway can be a road between cities which can have intersections. This is more a freeway / expressway. The difference with a highway is that it has dividers, no intersections, it has access ramps etc. as my viewers are international the word 'expressway' or 'freeway' is a better term than 'highway'. A highway can be a road with a 50 mph / 80 km/h speed limit. The speed limit is 130km/h since a couple of years (not everywhere though). In the US a highway is a state route, an Interstate is like an expressway. So it all depends on where you live, but 'highway' would be the worst choice to pick.
@JimmyRJump
@JimmyRJump 5 жыл бұрын
@@MotoSnax Well, I saw a blue plate with a white 'H' on it that indicates an 'autosnelweg' (autostrade in Belgium) when you made a right turn across the bridge. Across your Southern border an expressway is kind of an inter-city road with a tracé that's more or less straight and very good asphalt. But Belgium has so many 'karresporen' that got upgraded over the years that we no longer know which is which :D
