Royal Enfield isn’t the first name that comes to mind when you think of beginner motorcycles. The Hunter 350 is looking to change that.

I am on to my 3rd RE. 15 years ago one did not have too much of a choice. Today it's a buyers market. The cost of ownership is very high as RE requires a lost of maintenance due to substandard components. I bought by last bike for Rs 2.06 lacs. I've spent Rs 2.4 lacs on maintenance and servicing the bike in 5 years. My bike is serviced by RE service centre and never seen an outside mechanic. RE cant compete on quality and performance. A good motorcycle can do city to interstate to intercontinental, it can handle paved roads, gravel and light off road, it's durable and has great mileage, it's stable and agile at slower and higher speeds this is so you as an owner have a choice of how YOU can use your motorcycle. If you are to listen to RE's classification for The Hunter 350 it tells you that this motorcycle does not meet the versatile criterias that a good motorcycle needs but every other RE motorcycle does, this is something you should think hard about before you get the Hunter 350.

Seeing all its +ve and -ve, I would say skip this bike. Rather buy a Honda CB350. I covered the whole south India on it recently (15000 Km in 3 months )and can say that Honda is class apart in terms of performance, reliability, off roading, top speed, and I was riding at 120kmph most of the time, with zero vibrations. ❤️
@greatoftones2 жыл бұрын
If the body parts are not plastic, the price may be expensive. The engine is still the same as the Classic 350 and Meteor 350. That's why the Hunter 350 is very light when controlling, with the sportrim 17 being low enough front and rear, it's easy to handle whether on the road or off road. For 17 size tires you can use Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR very suitable for hot and rainy weather or even off road. 🤞🏻🏍🏔

I am on to my third RE. What is modern about the Hunter? Certainly not the engineering and performance; nor the features and components. Just about every 150cc on the market today has better specs, ride and handling, build quality .And if you compare apple with apple - the Honda CB350 RS is head and shoulders above what RE has to offer. News percolating out of Bangkok is that the suspension is 'rudimentary' at best, the engine characteristics is 'typical' RE and to keep costs to a minimum it comes with compromises eg. no main stand, no LED lights (standard on all modern bikes today) etc. Yes RE sell cheap bikes. But most importantly the cost of ownership is another matter altogether!

Looks can be deceiving. Ronin steals the show in terms of practicability. And meteor still remains the best offering from RE.

yes the price and features RONIN has is much better but people don't understand it

All in all good bike, excellent review, but still feel RE need to tune up engine to squeeze 30bhp for a persausive second city bike

Is it true that RE is using non branded brakes for Dapper variants and BYBRE brakes comes only with the Rebel variant?

The sad part is that with a few more HP it could have hit free ways here in the U.S.

350cc with twin cylinders and 35bhp+ power 35nm+ torque is what RE should concentrate on developing.

No way man. With the J platform I was expecting a minimum of 25 ps but no. Quite disappointing actually.

this bike is for young college going kids and only for city use. ground clearance going to be issue as per indian road conditions, bike looks small foot pegs for rider are way backwards than TVS Ronin(which offers comfortable posture ) i will prefer Honda highness 350 or TVS RONIN( if bigwing showroom not available ) than hunter

I don't think this bike needs more power. If Royal Enfield designed it with more power it would need to be liquid-cooled & have an over-square bore & stroke. It would cost more, have less low-end torque & rev higher on the road. Bikes like that already exists. Honda CB300, Yamaha MT-03, Kawasaki Z400, KTM 390, etc. All more expensive. Royal Enfield knows what it's doing.
