Other videos are helpful, but spinning the wheel was pure genius! Also, after watching several videos, this one was the clearest showing how the line and the L/R had to all align. As a beginner learning to do this for the first time, the other videos were not very clear about "aligning" the markings. Great video!

Good video. Thanks. I didn't know to put RTV around where the cams are. I think I saw another video where the person said there was a misprint in the manual that says to turn the crankshaft CW. It should turn CCW looking at the left side. The Bear doesn't have a center stand so turning the wheel might not be an option.

To make removal of the valve cover much easier, locate the large rubber breather tube in the front of the cylinders and pull it off of the metal nipple. Than push it out of the way. You may also want to snip the zip tie that holds the horn wires to the breather tube. The breather tube will be easy to re-insert once the valve cover has been replaced. You can use another zip tie to pull the horn wires against the breather later, as well. It makes a significant difference. With more room in the front of the cover, it comes off much easier.

I’m getting ready to do this job. Question, can’t you just leave the gasket connected while you do the adjustments? Thanks.

You can't align to top dead center with the gasket on.

You menchioned different clearances for the intake and exhaust valves. Are the intake valves the ones closest to the rear wheel?
@revhappymv

Yup. Intake at the rear. Exhaust to the front

Buenos días. Crees que es absolutamente necesario ajustar las válvulas cada 10000 km. Cuantos km tenía esa moto del video y estaban desajustadas las válvulas? Gracias

Question of the day. How do you get the rubber gasket to stay in position (without help) to mount the valve cover. I found I had to clean the section where the gasket fits into the cover free from oil, clean the gasket, then carefully silicone seal the gasket to the cover. When removing the cover for another valve adjustment, I simply remove the (round) rubber cover of the cam shaft (carefully) with a flat tip screw driver while lifting the cover. Gasket stays in place. It refits a lot easier than going back and forth trying to realign it. Great tip on removing the horns. I have had issues with squeezing out and in the cover with the space provided trying to avoid rubbing the gasket against the cam cover. you video advise made it to San Antonio Texas USA

That's so cool this reached all the way over there 😀 Hi San Antonio Texas! The gasket was a two man job when we did it. We only silicone sealed the round bit so the rest we had to hold in place while repositioning the cover. We luckily almost always have some helping hands around as most of our friend group is way into motorcycles. Glad you like the video and thanks for the comment 😊

How long after one places the cover back on, can the bike be ridden? Do we have to wait for the sealant to set?

My int650 works fine until a few km when it gets hot, it starts giving this squealing sound. The rpm's are fine and there's no lag or anything. But that squealing sound is very irritating. So much so that, I've started using earphones while driving now. I've looked around a lot but, dont seem to find the solution for this. Any ideas?

That's a weird one. No idea why that would be. Be best to have it checked out by a mechanic.

Hello sir, after 6000km my re sc guy adjusted the valves for my interceptor 650, he said they were lose, i got to get more tappet noise so he said he tightened it as per manual, but my vehicle starts to drop rpm in idle and stoping in traffic, he said it will take time to adjust. But after compelting 500 kms also it is same. It is normal should i wait?
