Hi Glyn, I currently own a Halcyon Grey 2022 Classic 350 which I love, I'm now so used to the character, and power/torque of the motor that I don't need or desire another bike. I do like the colour schemes of these new 650 Classics but I won't be changing my bike. Cheers, from Steve in Australia

Those bikes look really good! I would prefer mudgards more like the 350/500 and I guess those from the 650 are not made of metal which would have been nice. Having a 650 classic in chrome/black would be great. Would be a little bit of chrome overkill in my garage beside my chrome/bronze 350 and my chrome/black 500! 😅 But having this as my biggest bike seems more logical (and for sure financially more reasonable) than buying a Triumph or even a Harley. The typical (RE)-classic look is what makes me happy! And that after dreaming of Harleys really for three decades.... 🤷

Am I the only one who does not really want a larger engine in a Classic/Bullet but does want a longer and taller frame. We are substantially taller in the west compared to the average person in Asia so I think there would be a market for such a bike in the west.

UK here. I'm 5'7'' 30 inside leg and am nearly 70. I know a lot of similar cheeky chappies. Low is fine with us, thank you. It's about time that motor was bored out to 900cc at least. Then I could be tempted. Compared to the other bikes in this photo, the one in the middle's paint job looks naff and amateurish.

I've often thought that a lot of bikes seemed to be undersized a little and could do with just being a little bigger. I guess there's Harleys and the enormous BMW R18 but they seem to take things a little too far!

I've got a classic 350 and I'm wondering to myself how much more weight will this be if I upgrade to that bike? Thanks for commenting, I've never been accused to being to the point before! Don't watch any of my other videos haha. The Super Meteor and Shotgun are both approx 240kg and I'm sure this will be similar. That said, Interceptors feel REALLY heavy off the sidestand and much heavier than either of those, which have the weight lower down, so maybe it's not bad news👍

Should be a 750 with no oil cooler for the Classic Line. Same geometry as the 350 just suited to 750 motor. Enfield made a 750 twin back in the day for the American market.

PS, RE have released a version of the Classic 350 on the other side of the pond in solid maroon with gold pin striping. That would be difficult to resist in a 650. I Had a late 50s Redich 700 Super Meteor in the mid 70s. One can dream...

For me will not be thinking of changing my Classic 350 as I just love the long stroke engine that gives a zen like charm every time you ride the bike. After a day on my Classic 350 fitted with the touring Bullet seat covering 180 miles I arrived back home as fresh as a daisy, for me at 70 years old this speaks volumes. Why would I then buy a higher revving engine that the 650 twin has fitted ? Unless you have to travel at more than 70 miles an hour, that would be the only reason the 650 was needed.

No reason at all to change Peter 👍 That's a great mileage in one day, hope you had a good ride. The average speed of a UK A road is about 30mph and rarely higher than 50 in short bursts. As I say to my wife, speed is about the least important factor in getting anywhere quickly, but then she does think I'm crazy in general 🤪

I'm sceptical of "spy" shots, they always look like viral marketing. The maroon/white bike at the front looks the least Classic, which may be intentional, with the likely sellers being the chrome and pinstripe options leaked in stages. As expected, it appears to be a classic riff on the Shotgun.

My 350 classic is so smooth, so very good that it will , in some time loose my interrest. Just need more classic, vibrating feeling with the looks of the 500. It's hard to tell with that low resolution isn't it but I don't think so. If you look up those registration numbers on the UK Gov Vehicle website they come back as Newly registered Classic 650's!

To be fair, it costs tens or hundreds of millions of pounds to develop a new bike platform and build the production systems so it makes sense to extract as much value as possible with different versions. Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Triumph etc all do exactly the same with their core platforms, I think Honda have had about 6 bikes from their 500 platform!

@@GlynOC yes they all do it but this 650 bullet appears to be almost as lazy as the 350 bullet, it looks like the same tank, same side panels, not seen the clocks, same frame, same engine, same exhausts... I may well be wrong. Honda's 1100 DCT appears in 3 guises ( I think ) The NT1100, Africa Twin and the Rebel, all the are very different. Again, each to their own.

@@rskolokrs Oh you meant it's actually a Super Meteor? No, it's not that. It's got mid mounted footpegs, a read mudguard frame and a floating solo seat. It's a new Classic 650 and is registered as that on the UK Government Vehicle registration system if you run the plate number 👍It is the same core platform as an SM or Shotgun though of course, I thought that's what you meant

Correct! They're not the 350 forks, subtly different. USD is modern, this will be the Classic look as a retro

The sound of the 650 putts me off. IMO it should be a single. I feel comfortable at 60-65mph so little reason to upgrade from my 350. As you noted earlier, a Bullet seat might be more comfortable and I'd expect a 650 later as well? Tank looks a little small...Perhaps I might favour the looks of the shotgun more.

Yes, the older spy shots show a Bullet style version with double seat so that's surely on the way too. I haven't had a twin for a long time so am interested in having one again, would never get rid of Rusty though!

@@GlynOC looking at the pic again, the dimensions look odd for a Classic. The bike should be a bit lower? The shotgun looks bulky in a good way in real life and the SuperMeteor even bigger, This Classic650 should be more like a bike you sit on top but it does not appear it is(to me). Not complaining too much, but I like the J350 platform for having a nice engine and character and I believe, designing platform based models could be a way to expand business, eventually they may appear to me as cosmetic changes, losing some character. I'd say the white Shotgun is the best of this platform.

@@electrobob1 The Shotgun is a lovely chunky bike to sit on, we'll have to see what this one is like. It certainly looks higher doesn't it, but that might bring the benefit of the longer travel suspension, which you have to say is the primary gripe of anyone who owns the other two versions

@@GlynOC I believe so... A set of hyperpro's may work. I have been considering those but not sure I need better shocks on my Classic but... funds to improve road quality over here seems to be lacking in future as in the UK where it seems to be much worse if I see the reviews! IMO the Classic650 drifts too far from the original j350 platform. I wished it was a new platform and a single650 for the Classic and Bullet. Or a decent upgrade for the 350. However it is not likely I feel the need to upgrade the engine. btw today I scored a bolt on chrome fender luggage rack for a bullet500. Seems for me a good option for luggage and keep the classic350 compact as a single seater. On top of this rack I may opt for a click-on tank bag. Unfortunately I noticed the classic cruiser seat is dark brown while I want light brown for my redchrome to match the gold striping. Need to wait for the coming 2024 accesoirie line for the red/blue seat upgrade. When available I will order the chrome side covers and adjustable levers as well. I guess this is all left to be desired for my Classic. greets from the Netherlands and enjoy the ONE RIDE!
