Excellent tutorial. I have a doubt though, as far as I understood, this wiring kit needs the bike to be switched on for headlight to work, but I need to switch on headlight directly from battery, can you let me know where to join the headlight wires for my use case, Thank You.

Electra 350. When I try self start head light will become very low with tik sound. Turn off and on again the ignition key head light will become normal power. But kick start is ok. Please give suggestions..

HI !! I HAVE THE SEPARATE REGULATOR AND SEPARATE RECTIFIER SYSTEM. I HAVE INSTALLED A NEW RECTIFIER AND AFTER INSTALLING , MULTIMETER WAS SHOWING A VOLTAGE LIKE 15 OR 16 AND EVEN 18 SO THEN I INSTALLED A PUSH/PULL SWITCH IN ORDER TO STOP OVERCHARGING. NOW IT IS COMING NEAR 13.50 WHILE IDILING, 13.85 OR 13.90 OR 14.00 WHEN ACCELERATING. MY AMP METER NEEDLE GOES TO POSTIVE SIDE WHEN I THROTTLE AND EVEN GOES TO EXTREME POSTIVE END WHEN GIVING SOME MORE THROTTLE. NOW THE QUESTION IS WHETHER MY BIKE IS CHARGING OR NOT? AS THE BATTERY COMPANY IS SAYING THAT THE VOLTAGE SHOULD BE NEAR 14.20 OR 14.25. I DONOT KNOW WHETHER THIS 14.20 OR 14.25 VOLTAGE IS APPLICABLE FOR OLD CI BULLETS OR NOT. AND I AM USING EXIDE 12V 14 AH ( 12XL 14L - A2 )

Amp meter on my bullet 1989 STD has never crossed the center notch on both side(positive and negative). While discharging with maximum load in idling(headlight, tail light on) the amp meter deflects half way negative (red small notch on amp meter) and comes to center while slight throttle and goes to slight positive with 30% throttle. During day time with no load, amp meter goes half way towards positive and comes to center when battery is fully charged. I have checked the same on battery with multimeter and I get maximum 14 volts with about 30-40% throttle. In your case, if the amp meter is going to extreme positive, your battery might be extremely low, maybe you forgot to switch of key. In that case just connect the battery to trickle charger, then the battery must be ready to go .

Bro.. Which number Regulator rectifier u are using... I'm using Swiss 712 reg Rec for 1989 model which is not capable of charging 14 Ahr battery.. Give me a solution

Your wiring harness type and company for purchase should be mentioned. Minda or Swiss or original..original R.E.has many harness types thats why..your full wiring diagram shud be clearly shown plz thank you
