I´d say it's more accurate to call the Primaris 3rd gen Space Marines, with the Thunder Warriors being the first. But that is of course literally ancient history.

Just watched the first one, and this popped up. Subscribed btw and liked. For the Emperor! Also Imperial Guard is the best, just something about just regular dudes going up against space monsters and "gods" that hits right, best thing about 40k is that it's the one universe where the fans don't want to live in.

This is the first release in years that I find amazing. I think the last game I genuinely bought out of sheer infatuation was Battlefield 1. 40k really has that theme and lore going for it.

If you’re into futuristic war gaming try Mechwarrior Online ( free to play mmo) or Mechwarrior 5 which is single or co-op and can run through console systems. Based on the Battletech tabletop game from the 80’s. Has a solid multi- decade fan base, deep lore, great characters.

To be fair Primaris was introduced by GW to sell more models. They just redid, rescaled Space Marines and added a storyline to explain it, Robot Girly Man coming back, and the Fleet Indomitus release with 9th edition.

Hey Luke, I'm kinda late to the party, but you should look into the Void Tridents (one of the DLC chapters for the multiplayer). They're one of the newer chapters, but iirc they've been described as having a rich naval history on their watery home world and favour space naval warfare and ship boarding. They're basically the marine corps of the Space Marines! 😜

when i was a young lad (28 now got into warhammer for my 12th birthday due to amazing parents) and back then it was most definitely niche, dickheads coming into store just to clown on people, the store manager was an absolute unit and took no shit so no one ever felt uncomfortable for more than a few moments, now though its definitely coming more main stream and perhaps one day takes the top spot for favourite sci fi universe which in my own biased opinion it deserves

It's only niche if it's average. But I used to play tabletop for a few months when I was like 13 but it's expensive so a well made AAA let's me get my fix for alot less. I'm even more broke now due to the economy so I'll watch you play. I'm a bit desensitized so it's nice to get others perspectives.

Hey mate, you should react to Wartime Stories. It's kinda like those old videos you did with the Mr. Nightmare military stories, although I like that channel more because it's actually ran by former members of the military. It also has a sister channel called Bedtime Stories which is also for extraordinary/paranormal stuff but not strictly in a military setting.

Oh if Amazon want to change lore, it's not going to be for budget reasons so much... It's going to be making female space marines, maybe black Space Wolves or something... I don't know... Some of the Space Wolves are redheads lol, they're just ripe to be race swapped... Pop an afro on the Emperor lol... Ok I'm getting silly now ^_^;; But rumour has it that the new female custodes being added in with the latest codex (who were always there, we swear... Even though we didn't mention them before and even sometimes specified they were a group of men) were possibly added in order to make it happen for the Amazon show... Although I've heard that some of the writers have wanted this for a while, so they might have just convinced the bosses to finally let them do it... I don't know... I do think that female custodes could work, but it seems unnecessary and damn that gaslighting they tried to pull off was so ridiculously insulting lol... And it's frustrating because you already have badass Sisters of Battle and the cool Sisters of Silence and such, but those aren't good enough because the Sisters of Battle are too religious and simp over the Emperor, and the Sisters of Silence are no good to them because they aren't allowed to talk... Never mind the interesting stuff you could do with that... And neither are quite as physically capable as a Space Marine and we need females to be able to do everything the males can do... They haven't actually said this, but there are rumours that this is why, which seems consistent with how these media companies seem to try to push things these days... And I wouldn't be surprised if it were true... I don't know... I don't mind those things existing, but it feels like the push for diversity, equity and inclusion is also removing variety... Weirdly, a lot of this kind of thing, like 40k, used to exist in somewhat of abundance and it wasn't as special back then (although it was still pretty cool and somewhat unique in a way), but now it's getting rare... At least in the Western market... And it's heading that way too... I'm not really against having a more diverse cast of major characters or whatever, but at the same time let it play into the over the top archetypes that make it special.
