The only reason I know of Cote d' Ivoire is because of a strain of Ebola that was named for it. There was an outbreak in the monkeys of the tai forest and some of the people trying to help the animals were infected.

There was only one case of Taï Forest ebolavirus recorded in 1994 (no fatality). It was the only recorded case of Ebola in the history of the Cote d'Ivoire. The CDC in Atlanta keeps a good record of all Ebola cases across the globe.
