Seals stand for sea air and land. Every seal is airborne qualified, halo qualified, diver qualified, go through UDT (under water demolitions traing) and are highly trained in land warfare and CQB

Every seal is airborne qualified. Not ever seal is HALO qualified. HALO school is a special forces school (obviously SEALs are in the special forces), but it’s a specialty school that you must be selected for and sent to through your team/squad.
@karlsteffen7804
@karlsteffen7804 3 ай бұрын
@@michaelscott33 that's actually not true. Every seal goes through free fall training. Opposed to most air borne which are static lined trained. If you have free fall training you're halo certified.
@doobiedave9686
@doobiedave9686 3 ай бұрын
@@karlsteffen7804that's not necessarily true. The Military Free Fall course does qualify you as a HALO jumper, but the typical free fall jump is done from around 15,000' whereas HALO jumps are done from 30,000-40,000 feet with chute opening under 1,000'.

@karlsteffen7804 3 ай бұрын
@@doobiedave9686you're just stating the difference between a halo jump and a typical free fall jump, but proving the fact that all SEALS are HALO certified even if 90% of their jumps aren't HALO jumps. They're still trained and certified to do HALO jumps it's still a free fall, and they're trained on their landing.

There's a standing joke in the special operations community about military free fall (MFF) jumping: You can jump HALO (high-altitude, LOW opening) or you can jump HAHO (high-altitude, HIGH opening), but you never want to jump HANO (high-altitude, NO opening)!

The Seals train for HALO ( High altitude , low open ) jumps from 30,000+ feet on oxygen and HAHO (High altitude , high open ) , LALO (Low altitude , low open ) and static jumps. All Seals are required to be jump qualified during pre-graduation training. Water training is VERY extensive as well as weapons , explosives , coms , medical , navigation , SERE training , in some cases languages and a number of other disciplines.... SEALS are at the very pinnacle of Special Forces , along with other SPECWAR units like SAS , SBS , Delta , U.S. Marines MARSOC and Force Recon etc..... If you want a more comprehensive look at the Seals , look up Buds school and other forms of training and operations....

At the 4 minute mark the reason he's not holding the toggles is because there are 2 jumpers connected at the legs performing what's called CREW Canopy Relative Work. One CREW maneuver is where they connect their legs together and once they reach a specific point which you can see at 5:16 they both turn opposite directions legs connected and head face down straight for the center of the stadium. At the 5:31 mark you can see the shadow of the two of them at the bottom of the screen. They then disconnect at the last second and landing individually. Believe me the maneuver is quite a rush. You can't help yelling at the top of your lungs while doing it.

I’ve seen them parachute in with the Flag before and it never gets old, I love it! I’m amazed at them doing it because I would have the Flag tangled up in my parachute, how they keep it from wafting up in the air amazes me. I’m sure the Flag has a weight of some sort on the one end but the fact that the flag is able to wave freely on the other end scares me that it could become tangled up in his chute especially when coming into the stadium as I’m sure the winds change. I’m sure proud of these guys and thankful for all that they do! ❤️🤍💙🇺🇸

In the simplest explanation, Pretty much all special operations in the US military get split into jump teams and dive teams, all go through airborne school for static line jumps, but not all go to HALO. Outside of the SEAL teams other military groups can also go to dive school and end up on a dive team. For instance Army SF has dive teams even though the Army doesn’t necessarily focus on maritime operations. Almost all US special operations are interchangeable in their roles, all though some maybe slightly better than others in their specific “bread and butter” role. If you want to blow up a ship the seals are probably a better option although the army could also do it in the same manner, want to train an indigenous force behind enemy lines and wage guerilla war? Army SF is the better choice, although the seals could also fill that role. Interchangeable but specialized, they are all race cars just set up for different tracks.

As a former British Army Commando I volunteered and did parachute training. Most things have been commented on by US airborne. British training jumps are from 800 metres. Operational jumps are 600 metres. Your equipment bag is on a webbing strop. As the bag hits the ground, the weight on the chute is reduced and that lowers the ground impact speed.

Spent most of my 23 years on jump status even spending some years testing parachutes and how to jump from different aircraft. 3 years ago at the age of 72 I finally had to give up skydiving. Every jump has the same thrill as the first. Please go try a tandem jump. You won't regret it. It's a life changing experience. ON your C17 video. In the US military any soldier of any rank can go to training schools such as parachute, jungle warfare, air assault, etc. All you need to do is fill out paperwork and if there’s an open slot you can go. An example of this is business insider I believe did a video of the US air assault school and they interviewed one of the soldiers and they ask what her job was and she was a dentist. Some jobs do require you go to certain schools, like USMC does jungle warfare and arctic training as an example. And I believe seals are required to go to parachute school.

When you saw that guy sideways, he and another SEAL had linked up and were falling linked up by the legs. And yes it is part of their training requirements as @karlsteffen7804 mentioned.

FYI, that is Nyeland Stadium at the University of Tennessee. The seating capacity is 101,915 !! FYI, there's another KZbin video of a Navy team parachuting into Reser Stadium at the University of Oregon AT NIGHT !

I can’t believe they let the flag touch the ground. That’s extremely disrespectful and agreed the rules.

Those who stated it’s Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, Tennessee, home of the University of Tennessee Volunteers, are correct. I would suggest less than half its capacity over 101,000 fans was present because it appears the entire upper deck was empty. FYI, the City of Knoxville population in 2020 was 190,000, and the student population at the University of Tennessee was around 37,700. So on game day Saturdays, the football stadium capacity is more than half the city’s population, and almost triple the student population. Impressive?

Lot's of SEAL talk.... Sorry to rain on your parade but those guys aren't Navy Seals, they are US Army Golden Knights, a special parachute demonstration team. That's why they are wearing gold and the chute says "US Army" on the side of it.
