@@sarao13579 Exactly. We are spirits first, flesh second... _distant_ second, if we're honest here. Our spirits are made of Light, and Light is God Himself, for God is Light. So if anybody builds their worldview and life choices based on the skin color of a sack of flesh and bones that will one day return to the dust, they have their priorities backwards.

I was blessed enough to go to seminary, and be taught by Tim. To gain understanding comes from reading God's special revelation, and focus on the reality of Jesus as our God. This is why the BIBLE says to put your trust in NO MAN because pastors can't lead us to GOD. We have to build that personal relationship with JESUS CHRIST by reading HIS WORD, worshipping, praying non stop, etc. Pastors are only there to teach but when we're home we should be studying the WORD for ourselves🙏🏾

If you really love Jesus you'll believe his words. All of them. Like when he says "I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel" in Matthew 15:24 it doesn't mean the opposite. It doesn't mean he was sent for the lost sheep of the house of Israel AND everyone else, it means exactly what it says. Jesus said what he meant and meant what he said. You'll also stop calling him "Jew", #1 because he was a Galilaean, #2 because every time you see the word "Jew" in the bible it should be Judaean, and #3 because only a couple of people who didn't know him accused him of being a Judaean (erroneously translated "Jew"), including Herod who wasn't an Israelite like God's people, but was an Idumean, an enemy of the children of Israel. The idea that he claimed to be "King of the Judaeans" was a lie told by false witnesses. A lie that becomes even more ridiculous once you realize Galilee was two countries removed from Judaea.

Did you know that Israel’s tabernacle and temple were designed as a symbolic garden of Eden? The designs of both of these sacred spaces (see Exodus 25-31 and 1 Kings 6-8) are full of hyperlinks and imagery that connect back to Eden. The gold (see Genesis 2:11; Exodus 25:3, 11; 1 Kings 6), the specific jewels (Genesis 2:12 and Exodus 25:7; 28:9), the flowering trees (Genesis 2:8-9; Exodus 25:31-35; 1 Kings 6:18, 29), and, of course, the guardian cherubim (Genesis 3:24; Exodus 25:18-22; 1 Kings 6:23-28) all appear only in sacred spaces in the Bible. There are also three tiers of sacred space in each one of the places. An outer space that surrounds the sacred (the land of Eden in Genesis 2:8, the courtyards in Exodus 27:9-19 and 1 Kings 6:36), then the inner holy space of the sanctuary (the garden of Eden in Genesis 2:8; the holy place of Exodus 26:33-35; the main hall of 1 Kings 6:17), and then the holy of holies where God’s presence took up residence (the tree of life in the garden’s center in Genesis 2:9; the ark of the covenant in the holy of holies in Exodus 25:10-22 and 1 Kings 6:19-22). And last but not least, there is the high priest who alone walks in and out of these sacred Eden-like spaces. The rituals and worship of these priests are called ‘abodah (“worship,” “service”) and mishmeret (“guarding,” “keeping”) in the Torah (see Numbers 3:5-10; 8:19-22). These are the same words used to describe the activity of Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden (see Genesis 2:15). All these parallels make it clear that the biblical authors want us to see that God’s ideal calling for humans is to serve as royal priests who mediate God’s presence in a united Heaven-on-Earth space. This vocation is what humanity sadly forfeits through their rebellion in Genesis 3. And the rest of the biblical story is about God’s plan to restore humanity to their role as royal priests, so that the Heaven-on-Earth blessings of Eden can flow out to the rest of the world. This is the story Jesus saw himself fulfilling and bringing to its climax, and it’s what we’re going to explore in our series on the Royal Priest. This question, it turns out, isn’t that hard to answer. They viewed the world as a three-tiered house, with “the skies above, the land beneath, and the waters below the land” (Exodus 20:4). And the land is prevented from sinking back down into the waters by means of “pillars” that form a “foundation’ (Psalm 24:1-2, Job 38:4-6). And what are these waters in the first place? This refers to the chaotic waters of the pre-creation state described in Genesis 1:2: “The land was wild and waste, and darkness was over the deep waters.” In other words, the biblical authors envision creation as an act of the divine will, facing the non-reality of darkness and water and carving out realms of stability and order, so that life can safely flourish on the dry land. If this all sounds a bit strange, there’s a good reason for that. The biblical authors didn’t view the universe the same way you and I do! Their language shows no awareness that we live on a huge globe or that we’re revolving around the sun in a solar system that’s part of a massive galaxy. That’s how we imagine the cosmos, which is great! But the biblical authors saw things differently. If we want to understand what they’re trying to tell us about the purpose of creation and about the character of the Creator, we need to put all our cosmic ideas on hold. When we do so, we open ourselves to see reality from a whole new perspective, and that’s what we aim to do in our new video on Genesis 1. @@tonystarkponkarthikeyan220 Biblically speaking, we are not God's children by nature. We are simply created beings with the purpose of imaging God. That's a super special purpose, but also necessitates grave consequences when we warp God's image to something evil. The only time the Bible talks about humans being the children of God is when we are adopted through faith in Christ. That goes for Abraham, Isaac, Old Testament Israel, and New Testament Christians. God the Father sent God the Son to become God our brother in order to adopt us as children of God.

@@tonystarkponkarthikeyan220 Jesus sends people to hell because He is just and perfect and holy and as much as He loves sinners He must punish them, it’s like a judge in the courtroom, as much as you’ve done good, or as much as the judge loves the guilty murderer, He must send Him to prison, or else that wouldn’t be fair or just at all. The good thing is that God sent His only son to die on behalf of us, and take the punishment and shame for our sins on himself, and whoever repents and trusts Jesus can accept the free gift of eternal life with Jesus. The guilty criminal can be free if someone pays a large fine for them, and Jesus paid the biggest fine there is for you. Death. Thanks for your question! Jesus so deeply loved you and cares for you!

@ronrobert6379
@ronrobert6379 3 жыл бұрын
Jesus tried to teach his apostles to understand parables because the truths he wanted to reveal to us would get him executed for heresy. In fact some of the things that he said did lead to his execution. Jeremiah 23:11 For both prophet and priest are profane; yea, in my house have I found their wickedness, saith the LORD. Ezekiel 13:3 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing! Luke 6:26 Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! For so did their fathers to the false prophets. 2 Peter 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. 1 John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Mathew 7:15-16 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Who do you think these verses are referring to since not one of them names any of the false prophets? They were men a person would be instantly executed for calling a false prophet. Look at the fruit of the old testaments prophets. It's clear who they are.

Right on point and incredibly done, as always. 3:40 , where the same diagram depicting the tabernacle was used to show how Adam and Eve lost access to that unhindered relationship with God, that hit me hard. Thanks Tim and Jon and all the people that make BibleProject possible!

Another beautiful video Bible Project ❣️ thank you for making so many AMAZING videos on God's word- I share these with so many people- I believe these videos are SO important because in these days people are looking for things to believe in but think the Bible is old and primitive and to confusing- you guys go break that concept into thosands of little pieces and I pray even more and help many people see just how BEUTIFUL Gods word is and how even more beutiful is the one it is pointing too❤️

I wish I had been taught this truth twenty to thirty years ago. Bad teaching has really mucked me up, but I have learned so much about God etc. from my second church, other excellent teachers, good friends, and the Bible Project people. Give yourselves a big pat on your backs. Well done indeed again! Thank you so much!

It's interesting how, in the New Testament, the body of Christ is referred to as both God's Temple (1 Cor 6) and royal priesthood (1 Pet 2) - might be worth meditating on how we might take the "work" and "keep" instructions of Gen 2:15 to heart as we (the priesthood) work to cultivate and protect one another (the temple).

This all makes the Bible much clearer, and it reflects God's unreserved, and deep love for us, his creation. The sad part is, many times this love is unrequited, sometimes by ourselves, without even realizing it.

Perhaps Adam and Eve weren’t the only humans in the Garden of Eden? Judging from this video and from Genesis, it seems that Adam and Eve were metaphors for the first human kings in an earthly paradise.

@bingjundis

Christians really shouldnt celebrate xmas because of all its pagan customs and commercialism. Now, theres nothing inherently wrong with rememberin Jesus' birth, feasting and giving gifts...but why Santa? Why the ChristmasbTrees? Why the mistletoe kissing? And dont get me started on the commercialism and materialism... :( But yeah...my family just do Hanukkah (but use the 7 branch version)
