Duane, your videos are so much fun to watch! Thanks for this. I have a Royal Futura 800 and after I set the left margin, it often skips one space. I can't never get a straight left margin on my letters when I use this machine because it does the one space skip. After watching this video I feel like I can at least take a second look back there and see if anything is not working. Thanks a bunch!

This is actually a 1958 model-the only year with the keystone top release on an older style typewriter. I had one I wish I still had.

Any advice on fixing magic margins for Royal KMG15? I can set the margins manually but the magic auto set doesn't work.

What is the lever for that is just behind the touch control? Mine doesn’t seem to move. The ribbon drive gear on the right is not engaged and the ribbon doesn’t move. Your videos have been very useful. Thanks

I kept cleaning the shaft with the bevel gears and now the ribbon winding works

That's it, just keep analyzing/troubleshooting, figure out theory of operation, fix it.....

Great fix.... mine doesn’t seem to want to stick. I set the margin, hit the carriage return and magic margins move with the carriage. Is there a fix for that ?

Is margin lever back in home position ? is it broken ? Everything can be fixed on these generally.

Phoenix Typewriter upon further inspection. Saw the dent and it looked as though it was dropped. Bent the arm. Placed back into position and it all works great now. Thanks for your reply.

Screw came loose and one day someone either bounced the unit setting it on a table or whatever or punched the button too hard. That would be my guess.

I just got a royal sabre. An aspiring writer. Got 2 book scripts ready. Most important 2 books of this generation. 2 more books easily. I don't know how to set the magic margins. Bought ribbons already also. Got 42 in it total. With case. Spent few hrs cleaning it all up. I need it to work. Frustrated. The right slide end cap is loose. I'm thinking could be damaged inside that area. I don't even know the parts names. I could use a little tutoring. The Lord's work awaits. Left feeling i should have gotten an electric one. But i prefer this. No electricity no problem thing. Can u help me? Limited income. Disabled. It types to a certain point then seems blocked from keys striking past it. I've had it at many different points. But i think I'm not only long winded but in my own way. Such a pretty off baby blue. Wanna set margins 10 left 10 to the right end of page. Don't even go half way. Margin release does nothing. Think maybe someone pushed bending stuff in frustration. Bro bill
