Debbie, you are spot on. Societal changes are happening at Tik Tok speed and I cannot keep up. I get no time to digest the changes and reflect upon their logic and affect before it all changes again. So people get cancelled over things that mean nothing six months later. I get accused of privilege on top of that for being white and a cis woman. Absolutely no regard is given to the histories of older folk and what they have been through to make them where they are now. I have gotten to a point where my pronouns are "prejudge me racist/sexist/ageist without knowing a thing about me". I feel for poor Lady Hussey. The world has no place for her any more. If Meghan felt that her very existence was a threat to the monarchy, then she must surely empathise with Lady Hussey for her very existence being a threat to Ngozi. They have that in common.

Lady Hussey, even at her age, had spent too long practising courtesy and, avoiding controversy. She had never failed, or lost the trust of her employer, until ‘Marlene’ decided she was looking for a victim to reinvigorate the racist storm: appalling timing for the visit of William and Catherine to the US., yet timed to perfection for the ‘award’ ceremony to the $u$$exe$!! Too many coincidences with Megan and Harry's award coming up about structural racism and posting it on Twitter as William and Kate begin their tour of the US. And again a woman is being allowed to say anything she wants against a white woman and people are ready to believe it. There's racism going on all right but it's against white people who are constantly being accused. The most well-known is what happened to Sharon Osbourne not only shocked at getting fired but then without a paycheck had to hire security because of death threats and assault threats. All the racial progress that's been made over the past 40 or 50 years if this keeps up it's going to go backwards. People are angry everywhere you look or hear there are accusations of racism. Two or three years ago a woman tried to sue Walmart because they had a product she use locked up and you had to get someone to come and unlock it. She called it racism and kept talking about how humiliating it was to get an employee so she could get the product. First let me say one of the reasons they were locking that product up was because of so much theft in that store with those products. Secondly many of the products I used were locked up and I had to get someone to get the product out for me. This was expensive perfumes and other items like that. I think a store has the right to protect itself from the. You should have seen this woman acting all shaky talking about being traumatized and even having PTSD from it. I started thinking this woman is really overreacting and I wonder if she's used to stealing the product and now she can't anymore. I mean that is the reason it was kept locked up. But Walmart does lock up a lot of expensive items you can just walk away with look at their jewelry and cosmetic department. When you listen to this woman talk about it she sounds insane or stupid. She actually put in there where she had to go through the trouble of finding an employee and then wait for the employee to unlock the cabinet to give her the product she wanted LMAO bless her heart that was just too much work for her. And I do remember thinking at the time wait a minute every time I go to the perfume and cosmetic counter I have to find somebody to get it out for me and had been for years. It didn't bother me at all and I've never heard of it bothering anyone else either. It was also around this time that a lot of black people were doing a lot of suing and then were upset when they got the stereotype of making their money by suing others.

@@D-E-S_8559 Hosts and hostesses do not "accost and interrogate", it is their role to engage guests in conversation, and show interest in them, by asking what they do, where they come from, and how engage with their charities. Lady Susan was trying her best to engage Marlene in conversation, and getting nothing but rudeness ("no records were kept"!!), evasiveness, and obfuscatory replies in return. This is because Marlene's purpose in going there was to entrap Queen Camilla in some remark she could then twist and use to "prove" how "racist" the RF is, so that Markle can then refer to it as "solid proof" when she accepts her Ripple (look-how-racist-the-RF-and-British-people-are) Award !! But Marlene couldn't get close enough to Queen Camilla, and had to make do with a Lady in Waiting instead. But she certainly didn't waste this opportunity to do the RF down, because she leapt onto social media immediately to destroy this 83-year old woman (whom even Nelson Mandela had praised for being one of the nicest, kindest people he had met), without caring whether such action was "abusive" to an elderly lady or not. The whole thing was a "set-up", as Nana Akua has pointed out, and Marlene has been making a lot of money (up to £20,000 so far, according to various reports) out of giving interviews about "her shock, pain and suffering" at the hands of the RF. What baloney! It's funny how all the other people of colour at the event, of whom there were many, (including the wife of the President of Sierra Leone) were perfectly delighted by their welcome, and didn't feel there was any racism shown to anyone whatsoever, in all the conversations they had with all the Royal and Household hostesses .... and the only one who came up with such a claim was Marlene (posing as a Nigerian called Ngozi) from Hackney !!

As someone who has worked in the field of International Relations for many years, I would like to give Ms. 'Fulani' a short lesson in business etiquette: When you are invited to a big international convention like this (she was not even invited, but that is another topic) first of all you go by your real name, not some fake made-up fantasy name. Second you respect the dresscode, which was obviously business dresscode, because 99% of the women attending from all over the world were dressed like this, daydress, pantsuit or something similar. You don't show up in some crazy halloween clown's costume with a toy tiara planted on your umkempt locks. Third, when you are approached by someone from the host's side and are kindly asked to introduce yourself, you do so with all due respect, like anyone who has learned some manners would do: you tell your name, if your vis-à-vis can't read your name badge, you yourself make sure, that your hair, your shawl whatever is out of the way. You then state the name of your company, where it is located and what kind of service you provide. If the conversation had went like this: My name is Marlene Headley, I am the founder and CEO of Sistah Space based in xxx. We provide help for women from carribean and african heritage who suffered DV. Lady Hussey could then have moved on to somebody else, or she may have said: Oh, that is interesting, does this mean you family originates also from the Caribbean? You know I have been traveling with our late Queen serveral times to the Caribbean. And then a polite conversation would have gone on between two civilized and educated people. Then you say to the host: Thank you for the invitation. Lady H. would have said, you are welcome, enjoy your time here at the palace, I hope you can make some useful contacts for your charity and go back with some inspiration. You should know that Queen Consort Camilla does fiercely support the good causes of your charity. Have a nice day!

Well said, Nana. Marlene, like any other racist regardless of colour or creed, deserves to be called out on this. It's horrifying that the Palace is so traumatised by the hornets nest stirred up by H and M about race, that Lady Susan was so promptly removed. She must be heartbroken. She is no doubt still mourning the passing of our late Queen, and now this. It can only be hoped that this disgraceful episode does not hurry her to her grave. Odious as Meghan is, Harry is much worse for defaming his family. Titles must be stripped. The King wants to keep the door open for his son, understandably, but lack of titles should not be a bar to kinship. The more rope extended to this awful pair leads them to feel more and more powerful. Most families have skeletons in the closet. Once they tumble out there is nothing more to hide. Let the haters hate. The rest of us will love and respect one another.

If I, as a white person at an event in Nigeria, was asked by a leading official "Where are you from?" And I said "Lagos", I think it's likely the next question would be something like "No, I mean originally" and I would then say "The UK" the next question, might be "Which part of the UK?" He could be asking which specific nation or county, so I would answer "Norfolk". That Q&A would not be leaving me traumatised. This woman either has an incredibly low trauma threshold or she was deliberately being awkward. The fact she possibly recorded the conversation and has been in constant touch with the Press gives me all the information I need to make a decision. I do think we've come to a point where this kind of race militancy has become so common that the question we should be asking Marlene "Why are you living here if all this perceived racism is so traumatising to you?" But we, as Brits, are meant to suck this all up and let our country be changed by people who are openly more proud of their ancestral homes than the UK.

absolutely right. I have an Irish name. its my own name, since birth and I am now in my 60s. Not so much these days but years ago i was endlessly questioned about it as it sounded unusual to British ears where I was born and bred. I didnt mind. I am proud of my Irish Father and my Irish family whom i know very well and have all my life.I am DELIGHTED when someone takes an interest in my origins. My brother was serving onboard the HMS Ark Royal. He had to give a short presentation one day to HM Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother. On taking to him afterwards she asked him where he was from. He said, The Cotswolds, your Majesty. she replied. Really? Whereabouts, I have family living there you know (everyone knew.. Prince Charles and Princess Ann, her grandchildren). he said. oh a small little town called......... she instantly knew it and with no guile at all sweetly seemed delighted and said. I know it! We travel in the car through there regularly you know (we knew, lo) on our way from the Queen' flight (RAF planes who carry the Royal Family) back home from trips. Its a beauiful place, isn;t it? He said she was absolutely lovely to him. He was 18 years of age at the time and no particular fan of Royalty but was in the service of Queen and Country which he was proud of. She chatted away for a few more minutes about the area.. growing up in the Cotswolds, how beautiful its towns and villages are and his personal choice to join the Navy .they are consumate professionals at trying to put people at their ease and getting small talk going.. wht better place to start from than where someone is from. I was, purely accidentally as i don't seek these things out, in the front row of people who turned up where I was to see the now King and Queen Consort visiting locally. I had no idea they would be there.. I was shopping at a market at the time. Suddenly both were working the line so I observed them closely. they look for interesting things with the crowd. In my case, the Queen pointed and laughed at my string shopping back which hd a lavender plant poking out the top and some bacon in the bottom. Its conversation starters.. nothing more. Unfortuantely as he said.. Oh.. Lavender.. y ou have been shopping with his nice jolly genuine laugh and chuckle.. a rotund policeman stood right in front of me.. blocking him.. he moved on. I saw Camilla who home in on a family who were in sailing gear having just moored their boat nearby. She immediately smiled and said.. aah. are you on a sailing holiday. don't you all look splendid.. where are you from? nothing wrong with it at all. This woman is a disgrace and from other answers has appropriated an African name she does not actually possess. Shameful of her. I hope the backlash is taken for what it is.. a search for the truth in all of this.
