"Good evening" dearest Helene 👋 with this being the first of Neil's vidos that I have watched today, even though it is now just after 7pm here, as I write this to you. Bob and I attended our son's home from late morning today, until about mid-afternoon. Invited for lunch and finally catching up with our son, his wife and our two delightful 6 year old grandchildren. One boy, one girl - being twins. They were such fun and so excited to spend some time with their Pa (Bob) and their Nannie (me). They loved what we had bought them for Christmas as well, and we both helped them to make things. Our granddaughter made a two small houses with me, while Bob helped our grandson to make a stream engine (from lego). We also ALL watched (while making things) a movie, being "The Sound of Music" with Julie Andrews, with both children (and our son) joining us in singing most of the songs etc. While all exhausted, we had a wonderful time, but I am now resting (on the bed) while Bob is resting in his chair in front of the television. The children were a bit upset when we had to leave, but we have promised to take them 'out' during their school holidays, which their dad (our son) said we could. Happy with that compromise, they then permitted their Nannie and Pa to leave. So, we can look forward to spending some more time with them both, before the end on January 2025. As they return to school in early February 2025, both going into Grade 1 (both turning 7 in March). Anyway! I hope you are all well and have a great day, and a lovely weekend. "God bless" 🙏 you all, with much love from your Aussie friend, Lyndell xx 💓🫂💓🫂 💓🐕🐕 💓🐈🐈🐈🐈🐈 👋👋

Good morning my dear Lyndell I am so happy to hear from you and even more delighted that you had a magical day with your grandchildren, I was thinking of you all. The day sounds wonderful, exciting, happy and most of all making memories that last a lifetime. Reading your happy warm words of joy simply melts my heart ❤️. I would love to have been singing along to the Sound of Music, my favourite ever film. I am sure they and you cannot wait for your next meeting something precious and special to look forward to. They are blessed to have such special grandparents. Kasey is asleep, Bayley is joined to my hip and Smudge having a wash, they all send you big hugs 🫂🫂. Newborough was perfect yesterday, the beach like Bali beach, paradise in an instant. You would have loved it. Kasey and Bayley were two power houses covering every inch of sand. We then came across two beautiful St Bernard Dogs, Bayley did a runner but Kasey had a lick, they loved her. She is as big as their heads!!😂😂. Please take good care of yourself my friend, your health and well being is so important to me, but I am sure you are walking on air after your perfect day. My love and support and friendship is sent to you both from all the Entwistle clan. H x👋🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️🏴🌺🌺🐕🐕🫂🫂🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱

Poor JR--I had a hunch, when I read that his wife had accidentally set fire to their house, that she'd developed dementia. A very sad situation when one's loved one develops it. There's a wonderful biography of Oscar Wilde by Hesketh Pearson that's worth reading. I also read Douglas Murray's biography of Lord Alfred Douglas but was somewhat disappointed because even in the hands of as gifted an author as Murray, Bosie turned out to have been a pretty dull fellow.
