The M95 rifle is SO much nicer to shoot than the carbine. I had several carbines, one rifle, and one M95m. I kept the M95m since it fires 7.92x57, same as my Mausers and my FN49. I regret getting rid of the rifle much more than I do the carbines.

It's a good deal for sure these days. Once they run out the full size rifles will be harder to find.

Me Too.... Getting milsurp parts is expensive n hard to get now....Mostly the Bore condition is what I look for.... Been burned 2x's from RTI.......Be Well.

@@MegaBait1616 I got two carcano’s from them, with honestly the best bore condition I have seen on a milsurp firearm, however they where missing parts. Honestly bore condition is what is the most important.

Lil tip I use where they wired wheeled the wood stock.... I use a wet rag with warm no sugar "Black Tea" let soak in the wood before I oil up my stock kinda matches up the finish then.... be well.

Holy crap! That thing is night and day to what it showed up as! Nice job! Like I've said before on one of my videos, I wish they wouldn't have wire wheeled these guns. It sucks alot that they did.

Thanks! Unfortunate they wirewheeled them as it destroyed the original finish and markings.

A lot of the dings in the stock will steam out,and it will bring a lot of old oil/poop out too

Is it white paint in the markings of the rifle at the end of the video? I've seen that in many surplus rifle but never asked what it was. Great job on the restoration!
@tfusilier44 Жыл бұрын
I just use white chalk dust. Rub it over the marking and when you wipe away some will remain inside the marking grooves.

Loving the videos, getting inspired! What are your thougbts on ordering from them this late in the release though? Is it too late for a decent m95 or Carcano 1891 at this point? Im concerned mostly with the barrel, and then that the parts are mostly complete and in decent order
@tfusilier44 Жыл бұрын
Thanks! It's going to be a gamble either way. If you get the hand select option you should get a better condition and more complete rifle. You also have recourse with their customer service if you don't. I heard these recent imports aren't wirewheeled and they stuck the wirewheeled rifles into the B Grade piles. But it's still possible you might get one like that. I got 5 M95s from them and ended up making one a parts gun to complete the others. Of the 4 left 3 have shootable bores, 2 of which are good bores.
@JCDenton3 Жыл бұрын
@tfusilier44 great advice, thank you very much! I'll give it a shot and see what happens, hopefully I can do at least half the job you pull off in your videos!👍

What did you do to remove the rust from the metal without damaging the finish? You mentioned in passing that you would get the parts “bald” and “carded.” Would you be willing to expand on what you did?
@tfusilier44 Жыл бұрын
It's a process called "boiling and carding" the parts. You can find some pretty good videos on it here in youtube. Look for one by Mark Novak.

Do you ever use water in the initial cleanup of the stocks? I don't mean soak the things but just brush them out with something or do you start off with the linseed oil?
@tfusilier44 Жыл бұрын
I brush them off first to get the loose dirt off then use boiled linseed oil and a rag. I avoid using Murphy's oil soap or any kind of cleaners to avoid damaging the finish or drying them out. The stocks are usually a long term project for me to clean over time vs rushing it with any harmful chemicals.

Did you order the b grade carcano flash sale?
@tfusilier44 Жыл бұрын
I don't this time but I have ordered quite a few from RTI in the past and posted videos on them. Different grades as well. I'd say their current batch of Italian Surplus are well worth it based on the cost.
