Prices have gotten pretty high for K98s, makes these from RTI worth the gamble.

Yes, this one cleaned up real nice too.. thanks much for this video. Wish I had one of these too.

Better than some that I've seen. Newly imported 98's in decent condition is getting rare.
@tfusilier443 жыл бұрын
Definitely, I'm sure the Russians probably have some nice ones but doubt those will be imported any time soon.

Lucky unfortunately I received a rifle with a bulged barrel
@tfusilier442 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear that, getting it replaced?
@davidschaadt3460 Жыл бұрын
I'd raise hell about it.Ive heard others have returned guns and got good replacements 🙏🙏

Really interesting they put that crude sling swivel on there. Looks to be in good shootable shape. Great vid. 👍

Thanks! I ended up removing it, filling it, and staining to match.

I just received one of these RTI Yugo K98s. Mine rifle has no yugo or german markings on the receiver.
@tfusilier443 жыл бұрын
Was it worn off or just appear that they ground off the German markings and never applied the yugo crest? Try looking at it under some good light. I have a yugo capture that still has the original date and manufacturer mark barely visible under the crest.
@thehomelessgunshelter74763 жыл бұрын
@@tfusilier44 It looks like the receiver markings were scrubbed from the receiver. I've tried various angles with low light to see if I can see any impressions. Only markings is a date on the barrel along with some nazi stampings on small parts.

if you don’t mind me asking, how much did you pay and how much did they increase the price? i recently picked one up at a gun show and i’m still trying to figure out if i got a reasonable deal or not.
@tfusilier442 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure RTI has these anymore for sale but last I checked they upped the price by about 30-50%. KZbin unfortunately doesn't like posts with prices on these types of videos.

I personally wouldn't have removed the crude swivel. But, nothing wrong with removing it either! Another great video!
@tfusilier443 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I had some internal debate over it, but since I'll be using it for living history I felt the sling swivel wouldn't look right.

I just got a c grade and I found something really cool it has the BNP stamp underneath the bolt knob. So at some point it went through England and got the proof stamp. Question does yours have this and I wonder if only the ones from Royal tiger came with these
@tfusilier443 жыл бұрын
None of the K98s I got from RTI have that stamp but likely there are more in the cache that have it.
@mrsurplusbangbang18573 жыл бұрын
@@tfusilier44 yeah I agree I almost over looked it cuz it's on the underside of the bolt knob
@ragingjaguarknight863 жыл бұрын
It has no bolt disassembly disk in the stock, kriegsmodell style barrel bands and what looks like a hardwood stock. Cool rifle! ^_^
@tfusilier443 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Likely a new stock put on by the Yugos after the war but like the flat buttplate on it.
@ragingjaguarknight863 жыл бұрын
@@tfusilier44 good to know. Both of my kar98s have the disassembly disks but they're both parts guns. One is a "russian capture" with intact waffennamts and dark bluing while the other looks like a Balkan capture, the waffennamts are defaced and it is almost bare metal on exposed areas. O_o

Why did you take the sight hood off?
@tfusilier443 жыл бұрын
I took it off in order to remove the barrel bands. I put the sight hood back on a few days later.
@michaelbenjmitchell13 жыл бұрын
Thankfully I got mine from a gun show last year. All I did to it was add a original cleaning rod and add a sling and use tru oil to refresh the stock on it. The stock on mine is full walnut stock(not laminate) with the takedown cups and cupped buttplate.

Sounds like a nice find!

Thank you for this. As a complete beginner, would you say these are worth it? Have one of these and a “collector grade” enfield no 4 mk 1 in my cart.
@tfusilier443 жыл бұрын
I would say they are worth it based on today's prices for Milsurps. You are however, ordering blind. So may get a better or worse example of what you see in my videos. Expect one or more of the following issues. -Worn finish -Worn/pitted bore -Broken/missing parts -Minor repairs If the bore or finish is a concern, use their hand select options. I used the hand select bore option on a No. 1 Enfield and got a really nice bore. Otherwise, if you don't mind a little work they are worth it. If you expect a pristine condition rifle then I would look elsewhere but you will most likely pay a much higher price.
