Let's settle down, please, shocked at some of the ungrateful comments below. At least these people are teaching you various historical subjects; I found it all fascinating ...

@anna verano Nonsense. Just because some of us are critical of certain things doesn't mean we aren't entitled to our informed opinions. Doesn't mean you are "hoi-polloi" if you don't bow in awe. The series is quite interesting, and well filmed, but it definitely has an air on the part of the presenters, of talking down to us and sucking up to the monarchy and staff...

Sounds very easy to have been queen Victoria, I certainly could love food, have a hard time following instructions, visit palaces and...ummm marry a handsome prince lol

Decorative purposes but you "can" eat it. While their commoners starved. Ahhh the Monarchy the elegant monsters !

Does anyone know what Tim Wonnacott is referring to when he mentions at about 19:40 that Princess Victoria wrote in her journal that she wrote a letter to her sister. I was not aware of her having a sister.

wfellow1 she had a half sister that she was close to. Her mother had children by her first marriage.

Actually when you think of it, its kind of a giggle that this dumpy, verbally challenged cook is bopping around having a heck of a good time in Victoria's digs, where she probably couldn't have gotten in the front door at all back in the day. And before you go all shocked on me, _I'm_ a rather dumpy common old lady myself, so its not a slam!

Lol this made me giggle. You have a really good point. Xoxo Another rather dumpy common old lady.

Hey- I am currently researching a similar topic for a History dissertation and wondered if you had a copy of the Castle Howard episode, or know where it might be possible to get one. Thanks

Great idea for a show, but I'm afraid both of the presenters are dreadful.

Wish he'd kept his stupid hand away from the painting so we could actually see it. Couldn't find a print of this picture anywhere on the internet - they keep it for tourists willing to pay to enter and see it in person. So if you've got the money to travel to Harewood and get in, Bob's your Uncle. If not you're stiffed.

I am sure you would benefit from some therapy and perhaps an antidepressant. Being as mean as you are there might be an underlying health problem. I hope you have some kind friends or relatives. Sad for you.
