I rode a monster once. Not the ducati, the one with horns and fire. It was an RB26 swap, 428bhp. Good fun
@aserta9 жыл бұрын
+bakerXderek Eh, nah, not a monster, but it has it where it needs it. IMO a bit more power and it would be even better, say 110 120 hp vs the 95 it has. Everything else tho, very true, i'd like to shake the hands of the design and engineer teams, all-rounders that hit so close to center-line like this one are rare and it doesn't look too bad either, i'm willing to bet that a few mods and some mechanical TLC would make it even better.

I also thought it was a fantastic bike, RJ - Honda were nice enough to contact me and offer me one for half a day. I still have to do the review edit... bit of a back-log. You're right about the traction control, BUT they did show me how to change the settings. It defaults to level 3 - highest setting - on start up, but there's a simple toggle switch that takes it down or even off on the left side of the bars. It was very smooth on level one. You can also turn off the rear ABS. I have no need or desire for another bike right now but found myself desperately wanting to own one after the ride. As you said - NO vibrations - even the 500X has more - and so well balanced. I found myself riding in traffic and doing very slow riding without even adjusting the revs or bars - incredible! The stock exhaust is really nice and growly and actually audible. I took it through city, highway and off-road and it was SO easy to ride in every arena. My only problem was how fast it would go without seeming to need much encouragement from me, LOL.
@royaljordanian9 жыл бұрын
+CaptainCranky Lovely bike, I'm sure you enjoyed it, a lot. Look forward to your review as I did not play around with any of the settings due to lack of time.

RoyalJordanian Many thanks RJ. Mine might be a bit boring, lol - I didn't play much with he settings either. A guy called Red Maverick did an awesome review on both the models that have "rider aids" and they really are brilliant reviews - he knows much more than me about how it all works :)

Very Nice! I like your review. As a GS owner myself I am impressed with how well it seems to handle and perform on the highway as a road bike. I bet with a set of Heidenau tires it would do everything. I would prefer the DCT version so I could forget about the clutch lever in traffic or riding slow enjoying the scenery downtown or riding slowly off road. Think I'll be getting one instead of an 800 GS. All it needs is to clean up that rear license plate mess and add on a tail bag.
