Prince Frederik needed a very special lady to be his wife. They both made it to the Slip Inn by a last minute change of their minds--This was no accident ,but an answer to his mother's prayers .They had so much in common--their high intelligence ,their love of sport ,their interests outside their "work". A true love match -the Prince described it as a million to one chance when he met the love of his life. .Sad that Princess Diana did not meet her Prince Charming.

No stiffness and the video of their wedding’s family reception simply full of family warmth from the Queen on down. The warmth and relaxation of a happy family group United is not a hallmark of the Senior British Royals.

In his latest biography he describes how he and Mary spoke before they got married , that their marriage and their children would be the central focus of their lives. His children clearly live normal lives albeit in an apartment in a Royal Palace..Mary has clearly taken her middle-class lifestyle and up=bringing into the Palace and Frederik loves it. He also said that their main focus as King and Queen will be promoting Danish business interests , Sport,Culture, the Theatre ,the Arts and Music of all kinds. His mother by contrast enjoys banquets, waving to crowds, receiving ambassadors. Her husband and sons were way down the pecking order/.In countries ruled by absolute monarchs , Frederik and Mary hsave made millions for the Danish economy , although the politicians were suspicious at first. An amazing couple from Day !

The veil was made for Queen’s grandmother and later worn by her mother, Queen Ingrid. When then Crown Princess Ingrid came to Denmark, she brought the veil with her and started the tradition of her descendants being the only ones wearing the veil. The last time it was worn, was by Queen Margrethe’s niece, Princess Nathalie of Berleburg, and likely to be used again soon, as Princess Theodora of Greece and Denmark is engaged. Crown Princess Mary is currently the only exception to this tradition. Though she is not a descendant of Queen Ingrid, she is a future Queen of Denmark. Queen Margrethe felt she should wear the veil because of this. Neither of her two other daughters-in-law wore it, when they married Prince Joachim.

Well Her Majesty the Queen is the highest authority in the Kingdom, as Head of State. She is very loyal to old traditions, which is a good thing, as her primary role today is to be something Danes can gather around. She is for many Danes the representation, the bedrock you might say of Danish traditions and culture. Secondly, yes a number of conditions were obviously presented to the Crown Princess before the marriage, some as a guerantee that she could never take the heirs out of the country in case of divorce, others regarding the royal jewels and estates. They belong to the state, to the people. One of the two remaining articles still in force from Lex Regia, or The Kings Law, from 1665 explicitly states that no prince or princess of the blood royal are allowed to marry or leave the country without the explicit permission of the monarch "No Prince of the Blood, who resides here in the Realm and in Our territory, shall marry, or leave the Country, or take service under foreign Masters, unless he receives Permission from the King." and so does the Act of Succession which is even more strict. "Where a person entitled to succeed to the Throne enters into marriage without the consent of the King given in the Council of State, the person in question shall forfeit his right of succession to the Throne for himself and the children born of the marriage and for their issue." The other exempts the royal family from prosecution, or put in another way, puts them above the common law, as their judge is the Monarch. (They should answer to no Magistrate Judges, but their first and last Judge shall be the King, or to whom He decrees). But those conditions are either 400 years old or voted into force by both Parliament, twice, and the people in a referendum, so that can't really be attributed to Margrethe II personally. Perhaps you yourself should do some research before degrading others.
