@@TheRoyalCorrespondent yes, swimming, gymnastics some beach volleyball, and waiting for track & field. Celine Dion was FANTASTIC! HER performance at night halfway up the Eiffel tower had so much emotion, and her voice PERFECTO! It made Kelly Clarkson cry.

@@TheRoyalCorrespondent I saw something about the USA going 1/2 in fencing today. But I like you have not watched enough to know a lot about it. 🤗 I am glad you got surfing in! Wasn't it in Tahiti, I thought I heard. But I could have mis- heard also 🥴

Yes! The competition is taking place at one of the most famous and most dangerous surf spots in the world known as Teahupo’o. 🙂 My boyfriend and I have been to Tahiti many times and he, along with his local friends from the island of Tahiti have surfed at Teahupo’o. I'm too scared to surf that spot because the reef is really shallow and the wave is incredibly heavy. Edited to add: Also, I'm a longboarder and I prefer easy, casual waves. I hope that made sense.🙂 Here is some more information and a video about Teahupo'o: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ipK8dXyCYrOtgpo www.worldsurfleague.com/events/2024/ct/201/shiseido-tahiti-pro/main

Hi Alexandra, thank you very much for giving me the heads up about the starting date and time for the Olympics. That was one of the best opening ceremonies I have ever seen. Having all the athletes come down the river in those yachts/boats was a novel idea. Great report, thank you very much Alexandra. Have a wonderful evening. 😊

Hello Alexandra hope you are well. Paris the city of lights, was spectacular. I still appreciate more the Inauguration being indoors in a stadium. It was wonderful to see Royalty being present and rooting for their team. What I was surprised is that there was not a covered area for the Royals to be protected from the rain. Congratulations to all the winners! I want to see every event, but we have to adjust to what TV coverage offers. Take care be happy until tomorrow. Elizabeth USA 🥇🥈🥉♥

That had to be a backing track. The last I saw of Celine was in a heartbreaking documentary that showed the end of her singing career. The woman I saw in that very recent documentary was incapable of singing remotely like this. I can only believe it was a backing track. Celine's career has been over for sometime unfortunately. It was wrong of the French to do this to her.💖

I was a MESS!! A happy mess, but still a ness. That Lady’s music has helped me get through so much over the years. So to hear of what she’s been going through….Which is why I was a sobbing happy mess. Rene would’ve been so proud of her. BTW…The CBC in their Daily Round up on Friday mentioned something I wish had happened. During Rehearsals, Celine & Lady Gaga were working on a duet of Vie a Rose as a duet, but decided not to do it. How amazing would THAT have been!?! Sigh…If only.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but that was possibly the worst Olympic opening ceremony. In my opinion at least. I don’t know. It definitely is unforgettable 😅
@markmh8352 ай бұрын
Actually, your opinion seems to be quite common among the world's media pundits. However, prior to the opening Ceremonies, I fully expected them to be weird and bad -- because that seems to be the French taste. But I was delightfully surprised! I thought the Opening Ceremonies were amazing: vibrant, colorful, inventive, creative, and joyous. The boats down the River Seine was such an imaginative idea -- and much more fun than watching athletes march in lines like military. (It is only unfortunate that rain marred the festivities somewhat.) And it was not just me. I allowed all of my employees to watch the Opening Ceremonies during work time on Friday morning on the USA west coast. Unanimously, we all thought France did a terrific job with the Opening Ceremonies, and we don't understand why all the negativity is being spread everywhere. Viva La France! 😁👍❤
@krisushi12 ай бұрын
Don't worry, your opinion is the most popular around the entire world! The French have much groveling to do to make up for insulting the entire Christian population whilst puting the extreme minority in the spotlight at Christianity's expense. I turned off the 'entrance of the athletes' after the letter 'B' because it was so boring! No-one explained that Australia would be coming last due to holding the 2032 Brisbane Olympics, which doesn't even make sense. I hated the constant interruptions of acts that belonged in the Moulin Rouge and not at a sporting event. I despised the waste of money creating fountains all along the River Seine and in every other aspect. This was more of an advertisement for the Moulin Rouge than for the most major sporting event on earth. It was an absolute disgrace and has put me off the rest of the Olympics after being so offended. Believe me my friend, you are in the majority.🇦🇺💖
@biduca1002 ай бұрын
@@krisushi1 Would you be able to see that as a homage instead? I am Christian and am not offended at all, by the contrary. Christ taught us to love one another. And those are human beings and chldren of God too. That simple!
@biduca1002 ай бұрын
I loved it! Very creative, innovative. People could see it from their own homes. That was very inclusive to the elderly that would not be able to leave and those with no $ to buy tickets for a stadium. Viva la France!

@@biduca100i am with you. I thought it was a breathtaking spectacle, no offense here. Hopefully the expense will be offset by tourists leaving their currency in France with a good overage to boot. Agreed, possibly the worst ever opening ceremony in modern Olympic history, saved by Celine Dion’s amazing performance. As one newspaper said, the endless boats floating by looked like groups of office parties, keep it in the stadium. I also believe HRH The Princess Royal did attend the IOC gathering but not the ceremony, lucky her! 😊

I'm sorry Alexandra, but that 'Olympic Opening Ceremony' was extremely FORGETTABLE! If it had of been held in a stadium, then all of those poor drenched royals and members of the public wouldn't be coming down with colds right now after being drenched to the core. It was disrespectful to all of them. It was the most woke opening in history and France should be holding it's head in shame after alienating the entire Christian world. Most forgettable.🇦🇺💖👩🏼🎨
