Thanks very much ROPS, I've hardly never heard Roy singing so powerfully and so energetically, the second rep of Crying is so amazing, powerful and long! 😯 I am 52 now and listen to the gentle emperror of ballads everyday. Thank you Mr Roy Orbison for bringing all that artcraft and love to us ❤❤❤ God bless you 🙏🙏🙏

Even filmed with a non professional system, it's ridiculous how good he sounds ... amazing singer, songwriter and underestimated guitar player ... it's a cliché boys and girls but they don't make 'em like this anymore ...

Roy Orbison debuted his big international top hits with charm and elegance. Roy's tenor is just fantastic - awesome. I love his songs very much and am happy to hear his sound every day. Many thanks for this performance.

Now I can say I've seen Roy Orbison in concert!!! WOW! What a voice!! ... I got it bad for this guy!! And the thing is, I've always enjoyed his voice and music, but just recently it hit me after listening to one of his songs, and then him going from baritone to those high octaves I was blown away by what an unbelievable voice and singer he was!! I didn't appreciate him as much as I should have while he was with us. Maybe because I grew up with his music. ... But boy, I do now!! And he was such a lovely person in his personal life. And from what I've read he was faithful to both of his wives. They don't make'em like that any more!! I just miss him!!

I was a support act for Roy in this show. His last ever show in Holland. When he ask for a big hand for the band at the end of the show, he first mentions me! I am still very proud of that. We were good friends, I met him some 16 times.

@@FirefighterKWann Thanks, I was President of Roy's Dutch fanclub for 13 years and met him quite a few times. He was a very sincere and humble but above all friendly person. He also rang me many times, but mostly at 1.30 in the morning as he always forgot the time difference. One time he said "you sound sleepy, did I awake you, what time is it over there?" When I said it's 1.30 he apologised and I said: no need to, I had to get up anyway for the phone rang, and he just couldn't stop laughing. On his request I recorded his own songs on high speed two track tapes in 1987 and I did some other interesting jobs for him. On his last birthday I called him but got an answering machine with Barbara's voice. When I spoke my message to wish him happy birthday, there was a click on the line and his voice saying: "For you I'm ALWAYS here". I will never forget that

Some stars get somehow overlooked in comparison to others. It´s true, there is alot more out ther from lets say Johnny Cash or Elvis Presley than from Roy Orbison. But it´s still quite a bit more than what is out there from the Everly Brothers. I don´t know why, but they seem togenerate alot less interest for whatever reason.

What was the lineup in this band? I saw them in Mansfield MA in the summer of 1987.
@alfiedc52244 жыл бұрын
The lineup for the band was: Roy on vocal and rhythm guitar, Bucky Barrett on lead guitar, Jim Johnson on bass, Terry Elam on percussion, Jim Kirby on keyboard, Kenny Buttrey on drums and Lisa Alvey and Gwen Kaye on background vocals. This was probably the same band lineup as you saw in the summer of 1987.
