Roy is so good I often forget these are his songs and his style. He plays so well that you almost think it is choreographed sampling but it's all there.

Derek is great, but so is Roy. I personally like the style of Roy and several other players better than Derek's style. To me,he doesn't always have that down and dirty blues sound, even though you might say he is taking it where it's never been before. But you could say that about any great player. They all have certain original techniques that give them their signature sound. I feel Roy plays more "in the pocket". But it's all opinion. Who you like the best. There is no best. There are many.

This may be a silly question but I'm really good at them so here goes, is he the son of the late great Roy Rogers?

I was just wondering that myself. Wikipedia says that "he was named after the singing cowboy", but not that the late Roy Rogers was his father.
