Very good~ The only thing I could criticize about it was that it didn't invoke that feeling of sadness that the original does. But this take had a very epic feel to it, so all in all it sets a different mood. It's awesome nonetheless.

2:35 I picture Link battling Ganondorf on a field. Ganondorf is at his strongest in the whole series, heir to Demise himself. His super demon army storms past their battleground, attacking and obliterating Hyrule's defenses. Zelda actually had to sacrifice herself earlier to weaken Ganondorf's army, power, and divinity, but it only worked a bit. Link is gravely injured, hope seems lost. However, at 2:39 Zelda's spirit sends her power into Link to heal him and increase his abilities. She tells Link she loves him and to fight for the people and their future, not for her. Link stands and unleashes strong attacks on Ganondorf, pushing him to his knees temporarily. Simultaneously, the Champions and Sages of Hyrule show up and unleash their might against Ganondorf's army. Hyrule has a chance. Then at 3:02 Ganondorf's Triforce of Power glows brightly, allowing him to stand and fight more. Link remembers the people on his journey, and does all he can to vanquish Ganondorf. Link and Hyrule's defenses miraculously prevail.

I mean this is great in almost everyway, but to me fails to really capture the despair of trying to save midna in the game. The worry you have she might legitimately die. Instead this captures some great heros conquest. Not bad, just not "midna's" lament.

I think it's not famous because it took away the simplicity of the original. These grand instruments sound great, but they steal the focused, desperate mood the original song invoked. 'Course, this isn't really a true cover. It's more like a remix, or "based" on. But it's not the mood I expected it being titled "Midna's Lament". I wonder how it would do if you took it from the title, and added it to the description?
