Having just watched this video I'm definitely going to binge-watch the entire channel. For a newish small channel you've got incredible production values. Thanks

Thank you, that means a lot. I'm still trying to figure out a good balance between supplements and diet apps. But more people seem to be enjoying the diet app reviews vs supplements.

@@feast_good I suppose that apps reach the entire anglophone world (or further if they have langauge settings) whereas supplements may have geographical limitations. I'm 5 videos down so far. Both of the speakers on your channel come off as genuinely nice people, and for me that's a big thing.
@feast_good Жыл бұрын
You're right about that. Apps have more of a wide appeal. And thank you! @@mattygroves21478

true, I guess it’s just something I would like to have better control of, but do that as well. Thanks for the idea.

RP diet functionality is frustrating because there's a learning curve and some non intuitive waysnto navigate it (coming from a techy person). Also, it is really bad for people who have unpredictable schedules. Even though it lets you change timing, it tries to keep you very regimented. And as an Asian, it does lack a lot of international options.
@feast_good10 ай бұрын
Yes, those are my main complaints too. Very rigid + a learning curve. That's why I only recommend it to people who have already tracked their calories/macros, are serious athletes, and live a very similar routine each day.
@BradPuma4 ай бұрын
I have been using the RP app for just over month and compared to others it has been working the best for me. My only gripe would be the multiple ingredient food is difficult to use. For example if you throw a soup together how would you measure the ingredients out per bowl. You can creat your your own custom foods but if you have no way to calculate fat content then it won’t work or you just guess. However, if you are down with eating single ingredient foods it is awesome and simple to use. Definitely watch the help videos before you setup your program, it will save you a big headache. Lastly, about calories, it doesn’t really care because calories of a steak are not the same as calories from salad. It’s about nutrient.

I usually just create the recipe in MFP, and then check at my macros (or over/under) whatever is applicable. Since the RP app is only going to be tracking adherence it doesn’t require you to enter your foods.
@feast_good4 ай бұрын
Ya, the multi food input is hard. I agree.
@feast_good4 ай бұрын
@@stefanierunz So you use both apps?
@stefanierunz4 ай бұрын
@@feast_good I do, because I have had MFP for so long I won’t give it up lol. RP is smarter but MFP can give me some extra features. There are a few tricks you can do to blend them (if you want but it’s totally not needed). First off, remember you CAN move macros in RP. That was a great update. But MFP can be a little more flexible. So, I use RP to plan out my meals that match my macros for a full week, including my different training days. I input what I measured using the RP guidelines and put that into MFP. That will tell me exactly what my actual total calories and macros were, including any ancillary macros. I can set up MFP to match the RP days. Some higher calorie some lower. RP is my planning tool and MFP is the logging tool if I want a crazy meal that RP is like what the heck?? With. RP will make adjustments if I am losing not maintaining, or I need a diet break. Etc. Then, if I want, I can match MFP to reflect that. RP is the coach in your pocket. When I find myself in a good spot, I just cancel the RP subscription and reinstate it later if my needs change.
@feast_good4 ай бұрын
@@stefanierunz I like how you said RP is your planning tool and MFP is your logging too. You're basically using RP as your diet coach and then logging all the data in MFP. If it works, it works. Don't change it.

The RP diet works best for me. Spreading the macros evenly throughout the day has been a game changer, giving me much more energy and a greater sense of satiety.

For some people, this approach works GREAT. You're one of those people.

so in the video you said it is linked to your watch/ phone as in counting steps, to aid in nutritional information correct. So if you watch broke and you don’t run with your phone, would that impact your nutrient info? Just using this as an example?
@feast_good4 ай бұрын
MyFitnessPal increases your daily calorie goal after you exercise to help you maintain your weight loss or gain rate. This is because your daily calorie goal, or "Net Calorie" goal, already accounts for your weight loss or gain goals. Net Calories are calculated by subtracting the calories you burn from exercise from the calories you consume from food. So if you exercise, you can eat more calories that day to meet your goal. For example, if your Net Calorie goal is 2,000 calories, you could eat 2,500 calories and burn 500 calories through exercise to meet your goal. So yes, if your phone or watch broke it would impact your caloric target.
@BradPuma4 ай бұрын
So, with the fitness pal what happens if you break your watch? How do you track stuff?
@feast_good4 ай бұрын
You track your nutritional intake by logging your food through the app, not your watch.

The amount of protein in rp is absolutely ridiculous because it doesn't count protein in carbs. How in the blue fuck am I supposed to eat pure 45g/proteins in the morning. That's 7 eggs for instance
@feast_good5 ай бұрын
Ya, that's a big drawback for RP.
@BradPuma4 ай бұрын
That’s why in opinion eggs are a bad choice alone. Try hamburger lean and shrimp, might be a better fit

One or two eggs plus egg whites, and a side of low fat cottage cheese or yogurt. You can also have your meals more frequently, so smaller amounts of protein at once.
