bookbabe001 Yes, but this was before them...Though I could certainly hear them borrowing from this in terms of melodic structure and overall sound. Both fantastic artists.

Mykee Morettini Of course this was before The Buzzcocks - my point was that they - their whole sound - reminds me of this song. I think Devoto said that he was greatly influenced by Bowie, as did many of my favorite late 70s - early 80s artists.

@@bretolson8484 it’s not a heavy bass fuzz. Ronson himself has already said what it is. A tone bender mkii with a cry baby wah set to tone half open in front of it. You’ll never get a tone bender today. Best I’ve found is a spider fuzz from tru fi pedals.

Great version. You can really tell during the end how Ronson used his wah pedal to shape his tone. Class act.

Well she's a tongue twisting storm, she will come to the show tonight Praying to the light machine She wants my honey not my money she's a funky-thigh collector Layin' on 'lectric dreams So come on, come on we've really got a good thing going Well come on, well come on If you think we're gonna make it You better hang on to yourself We can't dance, we don't talk much We just ball and play But then we move like tigers on vaseline Well the bitter comes out better on a stolen guitar You're the blessed, we're the Spiders from Mars Come on, ah, come on, ah

Americans don't get it ... they think the Ramones and New York Dolls had this big influence on British Punk - the UK already had Ziggy & The Spiders, Marc Bolan T Rex, Roxy Music and any number of other absolutely blistering rock bands within the UK pushing the scene in total isolation of what was happening outside the U.K. When you see Steve Jones wearing Mick Ronson T-Shirts ... that should tell you all ya need to know.

Finally I found the video I was looking for, even if the moment when David is not resumed bites the Mick's guitar. This is certainly the only one in wich the Ronson's guitar fellatio has resumed. Thanks to you rp61production for having gifted it to the youtube people. David forever and ever. God bless us. Paola in Roma, Italy

Always loved the "Peel Sessions versions of songs just a bit better, John brought very a live, raw and hungry quality to them that spoke more to each band's energy, who were lucky enough to have been selected for the honor of doing a "Peel Sessions"!

The early cat suits were the sh#t.You never see prints like that even on women's dresses anymore. The live and stripped down versions, especially the early shows, are proper alts to the heavily layered and produced LP versions.Show the true skill of all the band members.

Love the BBC track's energy, of course.... And the vid clip is cool. I wasn't aware Trevor Bolder played a slothead Gibson EB-3. He must have had a couple of EB-3's. I think in the Ziggy Movie he's playing an EB-3 with a standard, non-slotted headstock. Sounds the same either way: kickass.

+falica77 Heh! It's a great line that isn't it, got me thinking. Weren't the Sex Pistols accused at some point of stealing Bowie equipment from the back of a vehicle belonging to Bowie's band (guitars, amps etc)?
@falica77
@falica77 8 жыл бұрын
+rp61productions Cook and Jones supposedly ripped them off before a gig @ Hammersmith in 72/73. It's mentioned in the Filth and the Fury. They supposedly stole all Bowie's microphones. And maybe more.
