A vocal track that's slightly off beat, an instrumental that catches you off guard, he likes to surprise the audience and it's really a lesson in effective bending of the rules.

I like to think that most of our music (from South Asia) is cyclical (similar to our ancient philosophy). The beginning is gentle, with the music evolving like opening flower petals one by one, growing as it evolves, blossoming to full potential and then towards the end slowly reaches a peaceful almost meditative conclusion, with enough of the smell of the flowers lingering in your soul for the longest time. The civilisational ethos different. The European East of Urals are Caucasisn. And west of urals are Chinese - Korean -Japanese, Mongols, Turkic. Former Abrahamic, divisive,, and aggressive latter were essentially unitary, agnostic - atheistic, Tribal - Clannish, Buddhist - Confucian. This meant Asian Continent. These are temperature and Tundra land extending to arctic ocean However there is an land South of Himalayas and an extension till Caspian sea also and any thing below is indian continent. Not a that are flush with water draining into Indian ocean. The culture, is very different. The people who occupy the land essentially an indic civilisation. Indian carnatic form of music has a lot of similarities with jaaz(raag) sometimes more progressive than jaaz. Percussion players were brilliant especially the bassist. Special mention for harshita krishnan in the antara section (trying to squeeze the lower notes). Anitta Philip is sometimes spotted with AR during live gigs.

That was a Sarod, the string instrument at the end. Its not a sitar. Ustad Amjad Ali plays the Sarod but Pandit Ravi Shankar used to play sitar. Left this note for you to listen more to the legends who pioneered these instruments.
