When asked “what’s your favorite instrument?” I’ve often answered “LP’s voice” - she’s highly underrated. She’s written for Cher, Celine Dion, Rihanna, Back Street Boys and many more.. She’s finally back out as an artist, almost 15yrs ago. Insanely talented woman (though many can’t tell upon the first glance)!!

This video popped up recommended as I was listening to LP's "Lost on You" (for like the zillionth time). I am astonished by how fascinating it was to just watch someone else listen to a song I love for the first time. Your facial expressions and reactions during LP's video heightened my own reactions to the song. I'm glad you appreciate it, and thanks for making this video!

Please check out her live cover of "Halo". It's another stunning performance. The power and passion she expresses through her voice is like you said "is palpable". Her voice is SO unique. Seen other reactors think she is a "he" at first.

It’s always exciting, as someone who knows her voice, to watch people, especially musicians & indeed vocal coaches react. And waiting for her operatic-like bits, seeing peoples faces is so fun! Like reliving the first time I heard her. She’s amazing & I can’t wait to see more reactions from you!

The chemistry of LP with her band is so satisfying. They seem all "at ease in each others' skins" and the unhurried generosity and mutual appreciation of each others' talents is like the dynamic of an old and successful marriage -- comfortable as an old pair of shoes, yet nobody taking each other's gifts for granted-- these musicians all LIKE and mutually support each other with such mature refinement. LP gives entire trust, and willingly depends on their steady support and inspiration to do what only she can do. There is such respect and obvious admiration between band and singer here. The music and singing feels like it is a "family production" and there is such trust and strong self-assurance in every person in this session. What a pleasure to see them enjoying their own music individually and as a melded group. This number is in the finest sense more than the sum of its parts because every musician is performing with profound yet disciplined commitment to their art and to each other. Deeply moving on so many levels. 💕💖💝

Great reaction! I discovered LP just a couple of months ago, and have been listening to her a LOT in that period. This one really stands out to me, but she has a really beautiful voice with such a great expression. She falls into the same genre as the rest of my female vocalist favorites, like Angelina Jordan, Aurora and Eivör. The world is definitely a more beautiful place with artists like these in it. Aloha from a Norway soon to freeze solid :-)

LP has an incredible rawness both in her vocals and her lyrics. She is definitely talented, I hope you enjoy what songs you may have listened to. Tokyo Sunrise and Strange are two others I really enjoyed, if you haven’t gotten to them. Glad you were pleasantly surprised.

LP is truly one of a kind. Her mother was an opera singer and so LP has classical training. And yes, her vibrato is one of the things that sets her apart; another is her ability to whistle. This was recorded at Harvard and Stone along with Muddy Waters and Strange( the 3 songs she played for Warner and was then dropped). She’s had about 7 record deals with big, indie and independent labels. And as others have already said, she’s a prolific songwriter who has written for quite a few big names ( Celine Dion requested her specifically ). Another great live session is the one Live from the East West Studios( her cover of Halo , A MUST, well as It’s Over are just spectacular) as well as the lives from KZbin studios ( Dreamer being one of the stand outs). When We’re High, Too Much ( an unreleased song but it’s got fan videos for it), The Power, Other People,Tightrope, The One That You Love, and Can’t Let You Leave( my favorite off of her new album. Also written about the same ex girlfriend that inspired Lost On You and Other People), and my #1 favorite Forever For Now. For mind blowing covers The Ukulele Series features In The Pines, The Widow and Something.

LP is someone I discovered just this year and I am just overjoyed by her music. She’s a phenomenal lyricist (the double meaning of “lost on you” is a top-10 lyrical turn of phrase of at least the past decade). She sings like Stevie Nicks with opera training. She’s uncommonly charismatic as a stage performer. So excited to find her. There are several great performances to react to, but I’ll plant a flag for her cover of Beyoncé’s “Halo.” The version in black and white.

Her mother is an opera singer. 😁 I enjoyed your reaction. No one ever says anything about the guitar solo! LOL Aside from Laura's voice, it's my favourite part of the song. 😅 As others have said, check out her cover of "Halo". LP adds an amazing level of energy and joy to the song. It makes me so happy that I cry, and my heart feels like it could burst out of my chest. My other favourite song of hers is the song that introduced me to her: "Into the Wild", another song that makes my heart soar. ❤️

She's an amazing vocalist and song writer. Not many can do what she does. One singer who I absolutely admire is Eivor. She is quite different to LP but has the ability to create so many different tones and sounds as well. Eivor is from the Faroe Islands and her roots are traditional folk but she has dipped her feet into pretty much every king of music out there. The song I recommended listening to is "Falling Free" since it shows off her abilities and vocal range the best. And it will give you chickem skin without a doubt.

Please listen to "Corpo-Mente" - "Dorma", in particular the Live at Improve Tone Studios, 2015 version. Fun fact:- Its the same members of IGORRR, but the music is the exact flip side. Where igorrr is heaviness and chaos, Corpo-mente is beauty and soul. Laure is absolutely phenomenal, she sings in a language she invented, sings the entire sitting down... and during the last section she sings what is the violin part on the CD recording. Could not recommend highly enough.. Well, except maybe the other songs from that live session like "Ort". )
