Speaking of puwexil's commentary, he didn't get to fully elaborate on what he was going to say about the floating continent encounters. Basically everywhere else in the game the encounter table is a fraction of 16. Usually formations have a 5/16 or 6/16 chance to appear, with the rare formations being 1/16. The floating continent is the sole exception. It runs *two* checks, one being a fraction of 16 and the other being a fraction of 4. In the grand scheme this means formations are actually a fraction of 64, and it also means you can manipulate it with save states. My guess is that one of those checks is frame-based as opposed to simply working off an initial seed, because if you save state anywhere else in the game, you will always get the same encounter after the same number of steps. On the FC you can actually load state to avoid Ninja formations.

I am sorry i missed this live but this is one of my favorite runs to catch on GDQ and i am glad you guys did this on Limit Break. This is my first year watching limit break on KZbin and i hope to be able to catch the next one live so i can donate. I'd rather see Slots rigging over Vanish Doom anyday since all it needs is a legitimate Pause Button vs an actual bug in the game. I'm really shocked at the Shiva Ifrit Run(!), avoiding the S. Figaro Ribbon.

Level ? Pearl is also a great spell for Kefka's Tower. You can sell your Magicite items until your GP ends in 1, and since nothing in there drops any amount of GP that doesn't end with 0, it will always end in 1. You have a powerful holy attack that hits everything 100% reliably.

...couldn't you just unequip the Mithril Pike and Shield during the "choose a scenario, kupo!" segment? It would surely be worth the 4 seconds it takes given how much it is compained about during the run.

The main menu "Equip" options are locked out to prevent players from getting Mog's equipment -- it has to be done from the in-battle item menu.

Both of you are a little mistaken here, you can only unequip the pike from mog during the time they're protecting terra, either from battle or the menu. You cannot tamper with mogs equipment during the scenario choice though, for whatever reason,and there are no battles at that point for the other method.

The reason being that the Mog you control while selecting scenarios is a unique character that isn't the actual Mog. Go to the status screen and check out his stats and commands. They don't match up with the real Mog.

That was the point of the background. It was never meant to be pleasing at all. Thus, why it is called "Demon Chocobo". And cannot blame the staff for this. Can blame the Donators. As they asked for it. And even if the staff and runners of the game didn't put it up on the bid table. The fact they told about it years ago. It ends up back on the bid table. So blame the sadistic people who throw money to watch the world suffer.

I'm pretty sure it's the donation announcer. He does a really good job, and this was a great event!! I wouldn't call the video unwatchable unless you have misophonia, but maybe the boom should be a little further from his mouth next time?
