In this video, we add a large mezzanine and stair case to one of our previous build series. Adding this large mezzanine allowed our client to utilize a ton more space in his shop, and by having the large stair case, it will easily be accessible even when carrying items to or from the storage space.
Building a mezzanine is a great cost effective way to gain additional storage in a shop or garage without needing to make the footprint larger.
If you want to go watch this building be erected as a full build series, below is the link.

I can't believe you two don't wear safety glasses when using the air nailer! especially when nailing hard sheet goods like OSB. Take it from someone who has had to have a nail surgically removed from my wrist, it happens SO quickly, you don't even know what happened until it's too late! And at least I could see it because the nail wasn't in my eye.

Staggered sheets adds to rigidity and structure. Those are tongue and groove so there is immensely less chance of slippage between sheets and the joists are framed at 12" on center. It's completely over engineered and insanely strong. So with the layout and choice of materials staggering the sheets is really just a redundancy at this point.

This is great work but that stud wall as not up to the job of supporting that floor where the joists join - you need more than a standard stud wall, that wouldn't meet regulations in most of the Western World. All the extra beefing up just adds to the weight on that weak central point. Was this approved by a structural engineer?

But they probably didn't glue, and if they did, it's probably built in the 70s or a helluva long time ago, where the glue has now failed and the nails are lifting. When I build my house, I'm using 100% screws, probably everywhere, but especially the floors.

@@mysteriousknowledgetexts9809 I ended up going with steel pallet racking as my base legs. I saved tons of money, plus I can literally store tons on top. I did in fact make a stair case out of steel tubing, tread plate etc. I have about 420 sq ft. And with every two sections of pallet rack I add, I can increase the floor space by 210 sq ft. I made the decking out of two layers of opposite stacked 4x8 heavy duty plywood, screwed to a steel ladder frame that I lifted in place with a forklift into three sections that I was able to bolt together once laid on top of the pallet racking. The whole project only cost me $1800 for everything.
